Dave Grusin has assembled an impressive roster of jazz greats to pay homage to George Gershwin on this stellar collection. Usually with Gershwin the melody istelf is the star, but these interpretations are noteworthy in their own right. An amazing CD.

If you want classical interpretations of Gershwin tunes, then this CD is not for you. If you want to hear really great, fresh jazz interpretations of some of the best music ever written, then grab this right away.

Dave Grusin does a super job with this one. The arrangements as well as the recording quality are A#1! Best CD I have bought in a while.

If you love a Gershwin melody like I do, you can't go wrong with this disc. Great performances by some great jazz players, inventive arrangements, cool sounds. Good choice of songs. These arrangements of George Gershwin's melodies are so good that you forget about the fact that these are all instrumentals, without Ira's lyrics. But you know all the words by heart anyway, and you sing right along.
