Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Gerstner & Sons first introduced the #41 Series in the late 1910’s. With its classic American styling, golden oak finish and appealing proportions, the GO41D Classic Tool Chest is extremely well suited for the safekeeping of treasured items and/or as a handsome accent piece for den or office. Every GO41D Classic Tool Chest is handcrafted in keeping with Gerstner’s legendary tongue and groove construction. The top compartment and all seven drawers are felt lined to provide extra protection for your possessions. The front panel is fitted with a sliding hinge so that it may be stowed beneath the bottom drawer. In the closed position, the front panel covers the drawers and can be locked (in combination with the top lid) to provide total security. This compact size tool chest is one of our newer designs. Made of Quartersawn White Oak and features nickel hardware and green felt interior. Dimensions: 20" W x 13 1/2" H x 10 1/2" D; Interior capacity: 1357 cu. in.

4.0 out of 5 stars This one isn't as nice, January 22, 2007
This review is from: Gerstner Classic 20-Inch Oak Utility Chest #GO41D (Kitchen)
The one I just bought looks very nice on the outside but the hidden craftsmanship is not. Small wood splinters would fall inside the drawers. I found they came from drawer above it. The rear of the wood sides of all the drawers were cut in a very rough fashion. It looked like they used a saw to cut tree limbs to trim the drawer backs. I sanded them lightly to remove the splinters. I still like the chest but I expected better from Gerstner.

5.0 out of 5 stars You DO get what you pay for!, April 27, 2004

This review is from: Gerstner Classic 20-Inch Oak Utility Chest #GO41D (Kitchen)
There is a reason Gerstner has been around since 1906. Customer satisfaction and product excellence! There is no other wood chest that can compare to Gerstner Chests - period! These chests are built with heirloom status in mind, you know that they will last far beyond your lifetime. My great grandfathers Gerstner chest is still in great working condition and it's from the 1910's! I expect my new one will last just as long. Hats off to Gerstner for staying made in U.S.A. and keeping quality a top priority! The price is easily justified once you see how well the drawers slide and the fit and finish of all the parts - its a quality product and deserves it's top notch reputation. Their brochure and website claim to have "the finest chests built in America" - I think they have the finest chests built in the world! You will never be disappointed with a Gerstner chest. My Dad still won't let go of my great grandfathers - one of these days I hope to own it as well. If you are considering any wood chest purchase I strongly suggest you treat yourself to the "real thing" and buy a Gerstner Chest.
