What an absolutely amazing book!

Tim Maloney, professional animator, takes readers who are basicaly familiar with computer animation from concept to completion. His vast experience shines through in his treatments of writing, storyboarding, recording, layout, character design, timing, animation, editing, desing, and finishing.

This is so cool, as his text follows the steps clearly. The bonus DVD gives links to animation programs and helpful examples.

Perfect for the budding animator.

The book covers not only what one would need to know about animation, but also provides information on the basic rules of art that one would find in any good art instruction book. This combination, as well as readability and style, is what makes this a dynamite book and a great tool for the at home animator.

As with many animation books this one is written in sort of a airy manner and not well connected. If you read this book, and think it will be helpful, will I hope you got it as a library book or you will have wasted your money.

Sadly, the author could have done a better job, but didn't.

I have been acquainted with Tim Maloney for many years and can assure all budding animators that he has great respect for God, as he would any powerful rival or adversary, and he hardly worships Satan at all any more. I am certain this book is the finest ever written on any topic.
Addendum: Now that I have actually read my personally autographed copy of this book, I find it to be an invaluable resource for information that can make the difference between failure and success. It is written with simple and entertaining clarity, providing what you need to know without clutter or muddle. You won't know how much you DON'T know about how to make a successful animation until you read this excellent book.
