This is a collection or list of 101 websites that cater to eBook authors in one form or another.

If time is money, then this is a great resource for authors exploring the world of digital books. All sites come with a brief explanation, site address, and some social media stats.

Doing a lot of searches a person could find most of these sites, but it would take time and you would miss some of the sites.

Paging through the book and making notes of sites that could help you market your book will be very helpful in organizing your online marketing efforts.

This reviewer rates this book 4.0 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Resource Guide June 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
As a self-published author, one key problem we face in the world of promotion is figuring out where to market our books. If you are a writer trying to market your books online, you can spend hours upon hours looking for places to hawk your wares. It can be so time-consuming that you don't feel you have time to do what you most love to do--write.

G.E. Johnson has compiled a list of websites, blogs, and Facebook pages and groups for writers, indie and traditionally published, as a resource to help them navigate the promotional waters. "Get Connected: 101 Places to Promote Your Books Online" is a resource directory of sites that provide literary services and that offer help with promoting writers' works on their sites.

I was aware of a good number of the sites listed in the directory as I have used many of them to promote my own works as well as the works of other writers. G.E. Johnson provides an even more extensive list of sites that I had not heard of.

I will be making great use of this directory for my promotional needs. I encourage other writers to do the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great resource June 9, 2012
By GG
Format:Kindle Edition
The biggest hurdle facing ANY author, regardless of how they are published, is visibility--how to get noticed among the sea of new books. That means, unless someone is bankrolling you and doing a major publicity push, you have to promote yourself. And promotion isn't easy. Worst of all, it's an author's nightmare because it digs into the little bit of time each author has to write.

On to the review: I like readers to know what they are getting. This book isn't groundbreaking. It doesn't offer up an easy way to promote yourself. It has no magical secrets. What this book does is save you TIME. And to me, time is precious. Johnson has done good research, and, according to her, used many of her resources to promote her books. Was I aware of some of these sites? Yes. Did I feel as if, 'damn, I just paid ten bucks to get information I already had.' Sometimes. But by the time I finished the book, and I looked at all the notes I had taken, and all the sites I highlighted as 'must todos,' I realized, Johnson had just saved me hours upon hours of work. Is that worth ten bucks? You bet your sweet... it is. Paying ten bucks for this book was like getting someone to cut my grass all year--for a dollar.

I'm not saying Johnson captured every single promotional possibility on the internet. Obviously not. What she did was put together, in one place, with clickable links, a great list of places to promote your book. Sites where you can list your book for free promos. Sites that offer reviews and author interviews. Sites for author/reader collaboration. I went through this in one night, but I have notes and 'todo' items that will keep me busy for months.

3.0 out of 5 stars not bad but a bit pricy. September 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Ok Ok whats 6 or 7 bucks right? in the land of ebooks I'm guessing thats a middle ground price area.
But we will come back to that, lets get to the review...

As a new author with a brand new indie published book, I was of course looking for opportunities and places to promote that book. I found THIS book through an on-line ad or mention and checked it out. It has good, and what seem to be, honest reviews. The vast majority of the links are to Facebook groups. And thats fine I guess, but in a perfect world I would I have liked to see a lot more diversity in "types" of places to promote.

There are a few bad links, and a few typos, but not bad. The book feels a bit thrown together, but at the end of the day is it helpful and is it worth 7 bucks?

Even though I rated the book 3 stars for the above reasons, I am going to give a YES to that question.
In time savings, yes its worth 7 bucks just as another one ore two reviewers have mentioned. You could spend a few hours finding these places to promote so the price isn't too bad really.

And in closing, if the book had more diverse links, maybe some basic strategy suggestions for writers to promote, and/or was a bit cheaper, I could easily have added another star...

If you're an indie author, the one commodity you don't have is time. G.E. Johnson has gone ahead and compiled an extensive list of websites, Facebook pages, and author's community pages to jumpstart you on your book promotion campaign.

She has researched each site, so this is not just a list slapped together from a web search. Yes, some of the statistics would go out of date, such as the number of followers, but the point of this book is to give you a handy list of places to promote your book that the author had already vetted.

I received a complimentary e-book for review purposes.
