5.0 out of 5 stars Are you Get Fuzzsperienced?
If you haven't read this book your missing out! Both bucky and satchel put a perspective on the world that you could only laugh about! Bucky gives a whole new meaning to attitude and satchel is the king of reality with a twist! With bucky's inquisitive and young mind it kept me wanting more! I couldn't wait till this book came out just like I can't wait for the next...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great art, good set-ups, WEAK punchlines.
The payoff on these strips is really hollow. Conley thinks up these elaborate plot lines and then can;t deliver a gag. The art is great though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nuts to You, April 11, 2003

It's good to see and read Mr. Conley remains just as amusing as he was in the first two books. I stumbled onto "Get Fuzzy" in calendar form, and am ecstatic I can catch up with these books.

I read this last night, it is the rare Laugh Out Loud read.

There were a few tears, as I believe this collection contains strips from September 11, 2001 and thereafter. However (either because Mr. Conley did so when originally writing the strip so as not to be morose, or the editors did so when compiling the book), there is levity in between.

The books keeps you laughing.
Its a great book.
Pick it up.

If you havent bee introduced to Bucky, Satchel and Rob, yet, go pick up Groovitude, as well.

Tuna out.

4.0 out of 5 stars A refreshingly witty comic for the new generation of readers, August 10, 2004
By
This review is from: The Get Fuzzy Experience: Are You Bucksexperienced (Paperback)
The first time I read a Get Fuzzy strip by Darby Conley on Comics.com, I was surprised by the intelligence of many of the jokes. A child can't always read the comic and get the jokes because they wouldn't know what art work, book, etc. they may be referring to. The humor can at times be a little dry, but more frequently than in other strips are jokes that make me laugh so hard I have tears come to my eyes. The incredibly stupid and foolhardy Bucky Katz brings attitude to the strip while Satchel brings a humorous naivitae and yet at times superior intelligence to Bucky. Rob is more of a background character like Jon Arbuckle is in the Garfield strips. The Get Fuzzy Experience holds up to Conley's usual standards and is more relevant to the modern audience than most other comics you may read in the paper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get Fuzzy, May 22, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Get Fuzzy Experience: Are You Bucksexperienced (Paperback)
I really love this comic book series! It's all about a normal young bachelor type guy putting up with his pets. These two pets are as different as day and night. Satchel is the sort of slow but lovable dog, who is constantly being tormented by Bucky the Cat. Bucky is probably one of the most hard to deal with cats you can have. Plus, he talks. He asks to be called by the nickname Shirley, but also isn't too smart. (Got a 1 on an IQ test) I think that this is definitely a great comic to read, and to get it if you like that sort of thing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Madness! Absolute Madness!, February 7, 2005

Darby Conely's characters and their interactions are a work of comedy genius. It is impossible for me to read "Get Fuzzy" without howling with laughter. Bucky Cat is a lunatic. Although we have a general idea that he is a semi-violent egomaniac with a twisted perspective, his actions and passions are absolutely unpredictable. One can't help but love and feel for Satchel the Dog. He's sweet and loveable and not very bright. Rob the human is caught in the middle of the interplay between these two.

I gave a copy of this and another of Darby Conley's "Get Fuzzy" collections to my mother when she was recovering from an operation to remove a cancerous tumor from her lung. She loved it; and it raised her spirit so much that it eased her recovery. Laughter is indeed the best medicine!

This book continues the adventures of Satchel and Bucky and their "owner," Rob Wilco. This book begins the epic battle between Bucky Katt and Fungo Squiggly, the next-door ferret. Darby Conley is amazingly creative with coming up with new ways for the "pets" to mess with Rob's life or fight each other or just hang out at the house.

This set of strips covers the period around Sept. 11, which Conley handles very well and even manages to get a few giggles in as Rob goes to the Red Cross to donate blood. That's not easy to do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Get (even more) Fuzzy. Animals aren't just cute and cuddly., April 25, 2003

The newest collection of the Get Fuzzy comic strip by Darby Conley. This is a strip that stays away from the cute and cuddly nature of animal comics and goes right to the truth.

Get Fuzzy centers around a household containing one bachelor, a cat and a dog. But this cat and dog are not like any others found in comic strips. If animals could really talk, one would expect them to utter lines like those found in this book.

Darby manages to capture the true essence of being a pet owner that hasn't been so well since the appearance of John Arbuncle (Garfield's owner). Using a dry wit and a sharp eye for reality, Darby spins tales that hit home for any pet owner.

If you have read the other collections or the daily strip, you need this one. If you have never read the strip before but are, or know, a pet owner, then you need this one too.

5.0 out of 5 stars more funny antics of the "Get Fuzzy" crew, April 8, 2003

I love this cartoon strip, so everytime a new book of cartoons is released, I am overjoyed. This compilation continues the crazy antics of Roger, Bucky and Satchel. If you are an animal lover, you can't afford to miss these characters. If you aren't, you will still be entertained and amused at the interactions among cat, dog and human. Being a cat owner for many years, I tend to favor the Bucky character since he typifies the antics of my cat (Scully). Although my cat doesn't talk or use my credit card (yet) there are many similarities between Bucky and regular felines. The attitude, the physical demeanorare very real. Poor Satchel seems to be not so bright, but is a lovable character who seems provide stability to the household and keeps Bucky in check. Roger seems to have infinite patience and keeps his cool amid the chaos the two non-humans create, stoically playing whipping boy for Satchel and Bucky.

I highly recommend this comic strip and especially the compilations that have been released (I believe this is the fourth). Bucky and company will bring you many hours of smiles and chuckles that are gauranteed to relieve depression.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get Fuzzy..., December 6, 2003
This review is from: The Get Fuzzy Experience: Are You Bucksexperienced (Paperback)
...Is one of the most hilarious cartoons I have ever read, right up there with Calvin and Hobbes, and Foxtrot. Conley is an amazing artists and his writing is also very good. The characters of Satch and Bucky are right on with what pets would say if they could talk. And no, he did not rip off Garfield. For one thing this is about ten times as witty, funny, and intelligent as Garfield is. Cannot recommend it enough.

..clang - it was an irony bar.
I note that some of your US reviewers prefer comic strips that smack the joke into your face and so have a down on Conley's style. Ah, it's a free world (some of it, anyway)
I buy my GetFuzzy books from the UK Amazon operation, and thoroughly enjoy the gentle humour and irony that features through the entire stream, not to mention the most welcome references to Rugby.
So far as this Anglo-Celt is concerned, Fuzzy, Pearls and Dilbert are the three essential food groups for a balanced comic diet!
