I saw the authors on one of the morning shows and ordered and I'm glad I did. The recipes are all doable. Sometimes you get a book and its just too much to do (I'm a lazy but good cook) or you're just not interested in anything they're offering because its way too fancy for my taste. Not so with this book. Love the salmon. I'm glad to see they have another one out about cooking for get togethers. These women know what they're doing.

You can recognize the Get'em Girl when you see her:
* She stands out from the crowd always being dressed to impress
* She has a power position in a great company
* She loves her circle of sista friends
However, it is one problem - the Get'em Girl could use some help in the kitchen. Since she spends so much time working her magic being tied down to the kitchen is not her thing. But in order to up her points on the dating scoreboard she has to put in some work on learning how to put together a meal that will wow him.

This is more than a cookbook, it is a truly a guide to success in the kitchen that will upgrade your love life. With over 120 simple but scrumptious recipes, you will be able to maneuver around the kitchen like a goddess. This cookbook reads more like a comedy novel as the humorous chapter titles (It's Not His Mama's...But It Comes Close; Grown `n' Sexy; and The Morning After) add flavor and pizzazz. The recipes are cleverly arranged according to potential date nights: simple dinner for two, appetizers for that Super Bowl party or quick dessert to add to those long love-making nights. There are ideas for keeping your pantry stocked, how to pick the right wine, why cook for a man, what gadgets you may want to invest in and what to do once you have him hooked. If you are a sister wanting a quick 411 on dishes to win a man's heart, this is exactly what you need.

This is one of the best cook books I've ever tried. My thirty-something niece turned me on to this book. Since purchasing it, I have tried quite a few of the recipes. I've gotten compliments on the Mac & Cheese, the Green Beans and the Collard Green recipes. And don't forget the "Get Em Girls" seasoning. I use it for more than the recipes from the book. It's worth the cost. Purchased more of them and gave as Christmas gifts. Would not only recommend to "Women of Color" but to everyone from expert cooks to novices.

I love this cookbook and so does my boyfriend. I recommend it to anyone that needs a little help in the kitchen spicing things up!

I am recently engaged and was very nervous about my cooking skills(or the lack there of) entering into the next realm of my life as a woman. I purchased this cookbook becuase it seemed to provide a fun and sassy approach to my cooking fears. I must say, I was not wrong at all...I love these girls and the fun and sexy twist that they put on cooking. I am also a fan of their website... [...]. I am now ready to purchase their next book to prepare for all the entertaining that I'll be doing!

Ordered the book so I could cook a different meal for my husband. I received the book on a Saturday and that Sunday I followed two recipes. The first thing i made was the peach cobber loved the recipe will never make peach cobbler with the traditional crust again this way is much easier and faster. second thing was the chicken marsala followed recipe to a T and didn't have to change anything that also came out good. My husband loved both

I just got this cookbook and I must say it is quite good. I have about 12 recipes that I want to make and so far I have already made the Salmon with Brown Sugar Glaze, Kiss o' Honey Potatoes, and the Southern Girl Sweet Tea. Only 9 more go! The salmon is off the hook and the potatoes are actually addictive. I could not stop eating them. I would have never thought to put a honey mixture on potatoes but it is excellent. It would be an excellent book to give to a friend that loves to cook. The recipes are basic and simple to follow.

I'm sure at some point in our lives we know a get `em girl. A get `em girl is a woman who is ambitious, and who takes charge of her life; from the boardroom to the bedroom, however she doesn't know how to cook to get a man. And whether you believe it or not the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, and this cookbook of 120 delicious recipes will keep him coming back for more.


THE GET"EM GIRLS" GUIDE TO THE POWER OF CUISINE entices its reader with recipes in various cuisines, such as Caribbean, Asian, Soul, and Spanish. The recipes are easy to follow and the ingredients are readily available in any supermarket. I made the Macaroni and Cheese and it was simply delicious. There are ideas for picking the right wine, stocking the pantry, setting the table, which cooking gadgets to invest in and what to do once you've reeled him in.

THE GET `EM GIRLS' GUIDE TO THE POWER OF CUISINE is not your average cookbook. It's a fun guide to dating and building a relationship from the "Grown and Sexy" recipes to the "Meet the Parents" recipes.

I am a collector of cookbooks and THE GET `EM GIRLS' TO THE POWER OF CUISINE definitely has earned a spot on my shelf.

I got just what I thought I would when I decided to purchase this book. It was funny, informative and just plain down home. I congratulate the three authors of this book they really thought out what they felt a woman who's single and still looking should know to get and keep her man. I liked the wine pairing with specific foods and the simplicity of the recipes. I would order this book again especially since I didn't have to pay the full price, but if I had it would have been well worth every penny.

Great book! Lots of "Southern" recipes from when my grandma was a baby! There are also some new ones for those of us who don't like to cook!
