This review is from: Get Good or Stay Bad (Audio CD)
With the Cops debut full-length "Get Good or Stay Bad", you'll find a record the carefully revisits the past, while adding a vibrant and fresh new sound. The band draws inspiration from the late 70's Brit/NYC punk, 80's post punk, and 60's garage rock. Blending all three elements to form a sound unique to the Cops. Standout tracks include "Controller", a song that could easily be a Spoon song if Spoon had bigger cajones. Other great tracks are the Devo-punk inspired "We Are The Occupants" and the amazing opening track "Negative Cutting". The album is solid from start to finish. "Get Good or Stay Bad" showcases a band that has a promising start. This could be their classic first record.
