Excellent weight workout for the upper body, December 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Get Hard: Arms and Shoulders [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I really like this video. It uses weights and/or barbells and targets specific upper body parts. It's a no nonsense video. The routines are challenging with 12 repetitions and 3 sets of most exercises but you can make it work for you by decreasing/increasing the weights you use. The video requires a bench that you can sit on and also use to lie on for a couple of exercises. I use a step with two risers and a chair for the seated work. I use a barbell and two different sets of weights since I can use a higher weight for the bicep work but need to decrease for the shoulders. Cory's workout partners show various possibilities for what you can do. There is a short warm-up and cool down as well.

Excellent Workout for Most Anyone!, June 14, 2000
This review is from: Get Hard: Arms and Shoulders [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I was afraid this would be too difficult for me but was pleased to discover it was fast paced and was an absolutely wonderful workout. Age doesn't matter with this workout. If you're a woman of a "certain age" or a man of middle age you'll get a lot out of this video. And it won't hurt you. Cory carefully instructs you in three sets of each lift and twelve reps. You can use different size weights --- whatever is suitable for you. And you can use dumb bells or a bar bell for all but two exercise. For those two, I made up my own routine based on routines for the triceps. I found this video to be easy to follow and found Cory a delight. You can go at your own pace and improvise where you must. But believe me, the next day you'll know you had a workout. And you'll look forward to the next. I highly recommend this video. And I'm hard to please when it comes to exercise videos. Most I do once and that's it. If you want to gain muscle and/or strength or simply get fit, you need this tape.

A Must-Have Tape!, December 25, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Get Hard: Arms and Shoulders [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is THE tape that will change the shape of your arms. It's hard, and it works. The good news is that it goes by pretty quickly -- instructor Cory Everson doesn't waste a lot of time. She gets right down to business, and in about 30 minutes, your arms are PUMPED. Extremely challenging, but well worth the time. You need a couple of sets of dumbbells for this tape. Highly recommended!
