Russell Brand delivers a genius performance as both a hard-rock singer and a balladeer, ridiculous as some of the lyrics are (in a good way). They are absolutely hilarious and in-character for a rock star with grandiose visions of himself, delivered perfectly. If you see the movie, (smashing!!!), all the songs will remind you of funny and even some touching parts of the film. Standing on their own merit, the songs are entertaining in a "Flight of the Conchords" vein.....hysterical lyrics (albeit much more explicit) about personal experiences....in this case, the experience of an over-sexed, over-indulged, beautiful rock god who every one wants a piece of.......and gets. Creative, fun to listen to. You catch new things the more you listen to it.

As a fan of "Get Him to the Greek" I purchased this in hopes of a few laughs, but to my suprise it's actually pretty good. The songs are catchy and of course funny. In my opinion it's better than the CRAP thats being trying to be sold to us by the "Professional Artist" now days. If your a fan of this type of music, I would Highly Recommend purchasing.

Much like the soundtrack to Walk Hard, another Apatow film, has already done the soundtrack to Get Him to the Greek is on its way to becoming one of the few albums I can repeatedly listen to all the way through. Rather than the traditional soundtrack compilation, this is treated as an actual record by the Aldous Snow's band Infant Sorrow. Those who saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall will remember the wonderful Infant Sorrow tracks from that film song by Aldous Snow. This soundtrack takes things to a new level, both comically and musically. Inside of You seems harmless put up against songs like The Clap, I Am Jesus, and Riding Daphne. Though the Snow character, with an appearance by the character's love interest Jackie Q., sings throughout, some great musicians are behind the songs. Carl Barat of The Libertines and Dirty Pretty Things, Jarvis Cocker of Pulp, Actor Jason Segel, and even Producer Judd Apatow all wrote songs for the album. Though Russell Brand admits he has little musical skill, it certainly doesn't seem that way here. He has come a long way from his cover of When I'm Sixty-Four though.

I can't believe this is all Russell Brand. If the lyrics weren't so ridiculous, you'd think this was a real band.

This "fake music" is wayyyy better than most of what I hear on the radio - and the lyrics continue to amuse me. Russell Brand knows how to deliver the goods in a way that can actually be dark & genuine & poignant even though it's spoofy. All of my favorite things in one album!

How is it that an entire album that is essentially a satire of rock and roll is the best album released in years? The people behind this are pure geniuses. Right now this is my favorite disc in my rotation, competing with albums 30 years older. A great bonus are the two Jackie Q tracks that relentlessly mock modern pop princesses. This is an absolute must buy for anyone who even moderately liked the movie.

The soundtrack from the movie "Get Him to the Greek" is some of the best rock music I have heard in many years. I was really impressed with Russell Brand's voice. He has great vocal range and a diverse singing style from hard rock to tender ballad which he performs perfectly. Really a terrific talent. There were many contributors in writing the songs but I think most of the credit must go to Lyle Workman. Even though the lyrics were explicit and written for comic effect, the music is superb. Russell Brand and Infant Sorrow is a made up band but they could compete with any true rock band and hold their own. I only wish there would be more releases in the future from Russell Brand and Infant Sorrow.

I loved the movie so I had to buy the soundtrack. It amazed me - the lyrics, the music, the comedy, everything about it! I highly suggest this for anyone who is a fan of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek or Russell Brand. Of course, if you love all 3, like me, you will LOVE it!!!
