5.0 out of 5 stars Hip Patterns and Great Instructions
Kim's book is geared towards teens and tweens, but everytime I show it to grown ups there are choruses of "I'd make that!" or "I want one of those!" 3.0 out of 5 stars Easy patterns
This book has doable patterns, however, who would want to wear most of the items in this book? I don't like medallion anything, however, they are easy for young crocheters to make. I would recommend this book for very young crocheters only.

This book is my second favorite crochet book yet! (By the way, my favorite is Get Hooked AGAIN!) The projects are fun, cool, and really easy! I have made quite a few projects in the book and my favorite has to be the Beauty Bin, Ring Cave, and Hankerchief. Really, and I mean it, BUY THIS BOOK!

i picked up this book after looking through at least 4 or 5 other ones. most of the projects in other books were either too intimidating or too confusing. i couldn't even figure out how to make any other stitch but the chain and slip stitch. but this book has clear, colorful pictures with easy to understand instructions and really cute projects. a couple of them could be finished in a day, if you're as obsessive as i am. :) i highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn how to crochet. it's a great beginners book. can't wait for the next one "get hooked again!" i don't know if i can wait until october! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read., November 3, 2011
I really like this book. It teaches everything that you need to start to crochet. Plus the fun colors and cute drawings really draw the eye to this book. It's great for any age. And it has 15 fashionable projects to make.

5.0 out of 5 stars Something for teens!, August 27, 2011

I knew that my 13 yr. old granddaughter wouldn't be interested in crocheting afghans so I hoped to find something she could work on that was relevant to teen's interest and simple enough for a beginner. The book not only gave her simple but cute projects but she also had good pictures for the basics which she was still working on. When grandmothers live many miles away, this book is a good substitute.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great projects!, February 19, 2011

I purchased this book for my daughter and was very pleased. The projects are pretty simple and something a younger person would enjoy making and using. I liked it so much I purchased a second book for one of her friends as a gift. Highly recommend!

Kim Werker is a popular lady in the crochet world. This is the first of the Get Hooked books and it's a great book to have in your library! Aimed at mainly at preteen/teen girls, those of us who are young at heart will fall in love with the funky patterns and fun layout of the book. Getting Hooked, Again is a great follow-up.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm hooked now!, July 29, 2006
This review is from: Get Hooked: Simple Steps to Crochet Cool Stuff (Paperback)
Kim was the first person to teach me how to crochet correctly (you don't even want to know what I was doing before)! This book is the next best thing to having her with you in person. The photos are clear, the projects are fun and if you need a refresher course, you'll find everything you need to know. Love it!

2.0 out of 5 stars There's little here I would want to make..., December 28, 2007
This review is from: Get Hooked: Simple Steps to Crochet Cool Stuff (Paperback)
I bought this book, along with its stand-alone sequel, hoping I could make myself some cool crochet accessories. The first part of the book explains things fairly well, but the same information can be found in Get Hooked Again... and that book has some nicer patterns. There is nothing in here that I really want to try (except maybe the scarf made of flower medallions). And after becoming thoroughly frustrated with the pattern instructions in Get Hooked Again (they weren't wrong... they just weren't clear enough), I am hesitant to try anything out of this book.

Another thing to note is that this book provides no information on substituting yarn for each pattern, so you pretty much have to find the yarn that is called for (this was remedied in the second book, but that doesn't help me here!).
