This book is all about getting your website on page one in a google search. It contains lots of information and tips. BUT, it also has many irrelevant pictures throughout the book which is quite distracting and not conducive to kindle reading. This book was written from a UK perspective, so examples are from there. If you do not mind plodding through the pictures and more, you may find some useful hints.

Although nothing much is covered in any depth it does give many useful hints in optimising your web site if you have one or are setting one up, if not it is not much use. All of the information is available elsewhere but this is one of the few places where I have seen everything in one place. It will be more use to someone setting up a web site than someone with an established site as it is easier to set it up correctly to maximise hits and position in the listings than to modify the existing site.
Although the title emphasises Google the info contained will work with almost all search engines.

I ordered this book along with another SEO book.. This one was very helpful in understanding acceptable techniques to improve your sites Google rank.

After reading it I still refer back to it and find more things I can implement. The first site I built after reading this book was structured differently than any I had built in the past based on what I had learned. The rankings in Google and much better than previous sites that I have made.

The main focus of the site was the key phrase "Helicopter Maintenance"... right now on Google that site ranks #1 in 5,320,000 results for that phrase... client couldn't be more happy... that rank is in large part due to the things I learned from this book.

This book outlined things brilliantly and gave me a good understanding as it seemed to be written from an insiders point of view.

The only concern I have is that the information goes out of date so quickly as Google update so often.

This was a quick easy read. If you are looking for a quick way to bring your blog up to speed or just learn what a professional blog should consist of then the resources here are invaluable. These tips separate the amateurs from the pros. No one can argue that Google dominates the search engine field and you definitely want to make the most of that opportunity. There is a very good section on how to make money with your blog and a list of recommended affiliate networks that worked for the author. They may be affiliate links but the sources are good. There are tips to load images so they will load fast. This book is the book you would want to read after your blog is set up, and not attracting the traffic you need to be profitable. Then you realize the value of the things you thought were not necessary to do like word tracker, key words and W3 validation, etc.. These things will help your blog become more visible in all search engines but obviously especially Google. You will be inspired by the comments at the end by successful bloggers. Again, the most valuable thing this book offers are recommendation to web sites that have been developed in the last few years to help quickly and effortlessly automate many of the blogging tasks most people dread. Those recommendations set this book in a unique class of its own. Take notes.

Definitly worth reading. Not overworded good review of many topics important in SEO. Not "the bible" - but 101 for sure.
