Toussaint - or sinners?, August 30, 2005
This review is from: I Get a Kick Out of...Cole Porter (Audio CD)
It's hard to think who would be interested in this album. Not Cole Porter fans, not Allen Toussaint fans: these are cheesy instrumentals of Porter classics played by a gaggle of cheap Casiotone-like early children's keyboards. I can understand why Cole Porter's name is on the cover - they are his famous songs - but is there any real connection between this and Allen Toussaint, the great pianist, arranger, songwriter and producer? This isn't the blues, it's blue cheese.

Excellent and rare meeting of two legends of American music, September 23, 2006
This review is from: I Get a Kick Out of...Cole Porter (Audio CD)
Cole Porter's classic songs get a loving, surprisingly traditional, tribute from New Orleans Jazz & Soul legend Allen Toussaint. Truly enjoyable from start to finish.
