3.0 out of 5 stars BEKI IS BACK !!!, August 9, 2008

(VINE VOICE)    (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Get a Life (Audio CD)
15 years after leaving Vice Squad, Beki Bondage decided to resuscitate the band with her as the only original member and a trio of competent punk musicians. The new direction is less abrasive than the original and a slightly more pop-oriented without loosing power. Her voice now is hoarser and her style reminds a little of Wendy O. Williams on helium !!

While the first 4 or 5 songs are corkers, the rest sound like they'd ran out of ideas and rounded up a meager 32'record with filler. Sonically, bass and drums are super-powerful while guitars are low in the mix and overall sound is muddy; I had to crank the treble control a lot.

Advice: not a bad album at all, but get it from a bargain bin. And I'm not comparing this to the Vice Squad of old because it would loose by KO.
