1.0 out of 5 stars Cheesy attempt at Ramones esque punk.
The title of my review totally sums up what I think of this band. They try to sound alot like the Ramones, but just end up sounding incredibly cheesy. When I listen to their songs it actually makes me laugh, it's just really, really cheesy. It's mainly the singer who makes this band so unenjoyable to listen to, he doesn't even really sound like a Punk singer. If you...

5.0 out of 5 stars Huntingtons are Pop-Punk Gods, February 9, 2000
This review is from: Get Lost (Audio CD)
This album is without a doubt one of the greatest pop-punk albums ever. If you like Ramones/Queers etc. you must have this CD. "Hooray for You" is the best Huntingtons song ever. Later, Danny Allstar

4.0 out of 5 stars Masters at their craft., March 18, 2003
This review is from: Get Lost (Audio CD)
First let me start off with saying I am *not* too big on "pop-punk"... I grew up on the Sex Pistols, Stiff Little Fingers, the Subhumans, the Clash, etc. etc. etc... and also had a healthy respect for the Ramones. (Yes, all of these were, to a degree, "pop," but certainly not to the point of what exists today.)

With that said, I think this album is marvellous. I give it "only" four out of five stars because this particular genre of punk rock just does not have enough lyrical depth to earn a perfect score... the album was released in, what, 1998? And now the year is 2003, and this album has not gotten old for me (much like the early Ramones albums). That fact alone is worthy of a four-star rating.

This album is not earth-shattering, and none of the lyrics will move you to any kind of activism or change your socio-political viewpoints. The Huntingtons are almost more craftsmen than they are artists, as all their material (to the point of this album) has been "forced" (for lack of a better term), in a way, to fit into a Ramones-esque style musically and lyrically. With that said, they do what they do *wonderfully*. I would even say better than the Ramones if I didn't fear divine retribution.

The only problem I have with this album is the song "Annie's Anorexic." It's terribly catchy, but the lyrics are a bit crass and disturbing, as they seem to make light of a serious considition.

This CD is a must for any Huntingtons or Ramones fan. Awesome fast, oldschool punk plus skull thrashing lyrics that make you wanna skank yer feet off! While this is not their best CD, it still rawks my socks off and is great for any party you wanna get people dancin to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not quite their best..., October 26, 2001

This CD is really good and almost worthy of five stars, but comparisons to the Ramones will come quickly. It's this lack of originality that is the downfall. Don't take the wrong way though. This CD is awesome. Any fan of pop/punk will love it. The songs are super catchy and many times go beyond most Ramones songs. Go buy it.

This was one of those albums that when I first heard it absolutely knocked me down and told me I must have it. This happened with Slowly Going ..... from MxPx and Sumo Suprise. I don't know what that other guy was talking about. If you want really cheesy lyrics go listen to Hangnail. The guitarist is awesome, but I could have written the lyrics in 1st grade. The vocals on Get Lost are the best part along with the moog.

Discourage cheesy punk bands and don't buy this CD.
