An amazing new band!,

This CD is so good, it's my new favorite. Along the lines of Unrest and older Jawbox. The music has an inherant genuineness that seperates it from run of the mill emo-core/pop. While not all of the songs have the punk energy of the first few, their is an intensity that remains throughout the album. Buy it for yourself for Christmas!

This is music that matters for a lot of reasons (melody, lyric, performance energy, musicianship, meticulous production - none at the cost of sheer rock bliss, none at the cost of feeling inspired and spontaneous ...) but it would be enough that they chose to let the drum and bass ground the songs and give them an "elemental" feel. Punk played from the pelvis, brain and heart instead of from ... I dunno ... all the other places, which are good, too. But this CD needs to be heard.

The Most Secret Method of Washington DC play punk in a style that is DC to the core. If you listen to any other punk/indie band from any other scene, you realize that none of it sounds like anything coming out of DC. "Get Lovely" serves as a perfect continuation of the sound now that Jawbox, Smart Went Crazy, and Hoover have all broken up. The record starts of on a high note, with "Suitland Highschool Theme", with singer/guitarist stating "I am quickly becoming the worlds best... um". It doesn't stop there, "Bronze", with its quiet, driving verses and completly bombast choruses is another great song. Other songs, like "Saints", and "Poor Maryland" are slow, driving songs that never fail. This record will prove to be hard to find, however, it is a really great record, and is really worth looking for. Also, keep on the lookout for their newest release, coming out sometime in the spring.
