I'm really shocked at the small number of Amazon reviews this book has received. Darren Coleman did a really excellent job here. Get Low read like a juicy movie script. The characters were nicely formed and very well defined. Pages of tantalizing sex scenes left me hot and bothered at times! Darren Coleman hit a home run by touching on and dancing a literary tango around every typical aspect of urban fiction bundled nicely in this page-turning feast. I didn't agree with the direction Nia's life was heading and shook my head at some of the predicaments she got into. The drug use, unprotected sex with multiple partners, and just living a life of disregard with impunity should have been met with surefire consequences at the end but I was left disappointed. The ending seemed rushed and incomplete. It didn't wrap up nicely. Certain questions went unanswered. I wonder if the missing pieces will be found in the sequel. I look forward to it.

It's always a pleasure reading D's books! They are page turners that I can never put down. I read Get Low in a day. At age 15 Nia lived a very adult filled life without a dull moment of lies, murder, drugs, money and SEX. Nia & friends also went to the Chart House, Classics, 112.... some of the happening places from back in the day, in the DC & ATL area.

Darren has a raw talent to pull you into a book in the first couple pages !! Get Low is a must read !! I couldn't put it down !
