The 'real' undeground legend, June 20, 2003

Since no one has reviewed this album yet, even though it has been out for a couple of years, I'll give it a shot. This is Sensational's first release, as far as I know, to be release outside of Wordsound Records. But hey, if you are going to work with another label, Ipecac is pretty much as good as it gets. Sensational sticks to what he does best, delivering rugged basement style hip hop...with a style that no one could duplicate. It sounds like his recording equipment had a serious upgrade...but still maintains that ill lo-fi sound. This album was his best work until his new album, 'Natural Shine', dropped on Wordsound. I would say that Sensational, along with Kool Keith, Mf Doom, Tes, and the stuff on Def Jux are really the only hip hop artists I find interesting anymore. Thank you for staying true to the artform.
