Create Value Through Relationships
Are you someone who gets off the bench and into the game by realizing the value and importance of people and networking, or do you stay on the bench and on the sidelines altogether?  Strategic networking will help you create powerful relationships, achieve goals, and most importantly, give you the opportunity to help those in need.  Get off the Bench takes you through stories, concepts, techniques, and numerous examples of how strategic networking is accomplished, what is to be avoided, and how value is created for everyone involved.  As technology, globalization, and world events continually drive for and demand more connectivity, building and maintaining a powerful network is more important than it has ever been.

I have heard the phrase "Relationships are everything when it comes to business," a countless number of times. Yet never have I "experienced" the phrase, that is, until I read Mr. Fuchs' book. The entire time I felt as if Mr. Fuchs' himself was taking me on an interactive journey through the world of relationships, personal branding and the power of trust. I'm honored to know the author, who is an accomplished leader and executive with many accolades to his credit. Having a man of his stature actually explain how relationships drive business, debunk networking myths, and provide personal anecdotes to drive home a plethora of key points, was in my humble opinion, extremely powerful. I've already highlighted multiple sections of the book and am utilizing the lessons learned to strengthen my position as a rising executive. If you are truly interested in unlocking the power of people, relationships and strategic networking, then Mr. Fuchs' book is an excellent resource!

For both natural networkers and wallflowers alike, this book offers a keen insight into what professional and personal networking is at its best. In his book, Mr. Fuchs illustrates the way to naturally build great lifetime relationships that can be both personally satisfying and a strong foundation for a rewarding and successful career. If you have read anything about Mr. Fuchs, then you know he has had a storied career and is one of the most connected and influential persons in the National Capital Area. Read this book to discover the story behind much of his success. From the first page, I was impressed with the natural way his story unfolded. Mr. Fuchs is a natural storyteller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great advice on networking May 22, 2012

I am definitely an underachiever when it comes to networking. This book made me rethink some of the decisions I have made and see the importance of networking. I have always thought that networking was "office politics" and a road that I was not interested in taking. The author made me see that if I can give my time in talent to relationships I will be gaining much more than I am giving even if I don't cash in my chips. I have been holding back for fear of the game and this book made me realize it is not a game at all, it is just about gaining and maintaining mutual respect. Very well written and thought provoking.
