Excellent, inexpensive daily use product to cover gray, and/or thin spots.

Shop around, as prices go from $4 to $16/ unit.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works well but is real messy., November 5, 2006
I was previously familiar with the Spray on Hair Color product because of being able to purchase it through my local Walgreens. They stopped carrying it and I had searched repeatedly to no avail. I simply forgot about the internet. I was very glad to find and purchase 4 aeresol cans of this prodcut. However, you have to be very careful with it. You must apply in very short bursts or a powdery film will be prevalent throughout the entire bathroom after just one use. It goes on well and is easy to apply however it rubs off on anything and everything. Don't get caught in the rain as it is water soluable and little droplets will run down your cheeks and neck, It will stain the neck portion of a dress shirt and is difficult to launder the stain out. Even with all of this I still find it the best value for the money out there and I have tried many products. Use a towel around your shoulders much the same way a barber would when applying after getting dressed. It also leaves a stain on pillow cases. I find it better to shower and remove the hair color from my scalp before going to bed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Answer to hair loss, January 15, 2007
I have used this product for years and can't stand to be without it. In seconds you can go from thin, scraggly hair to looking like you have plenty of hair. I just wish there was a store I could buy it from in my area. It is very hard to find in stores and I can't undertstand that because it works so well. I just think people don't know about it or don't believe it works as well as it does. Also, it will absolutely not run when it gets wet, like if you get caught in the rain. Shampooing is the only way it will come out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent, November 30, 2007
Decent product when applied looks like I have a full head of hair and I mean full! I ask people that I haven't seen in a few years "How bald am I?" and the response I have gotten has always been the same, "Looks like you might be receding a little bit" HA! Try almost fully bald! The only downside to this product is it has a tendancy to not hold up well under persperation, rain or plain old touching your hair. I prefer Ronco's GLH since it does not come out and is a more quality product. However, if you don't sweat or touch your hair then no one will be the wiser! By the by, this does not look like a hair peice it looks like real hair! Order one can and you will see the magic, then I'm sure you will order more. I know I have! As far as anyone besides my immeadiate family nobody even knows that I'm virtually bald! I'd say try it out, and if you tend to sweat spray a light coat of hair spray over it after it drys, it will help the product from running!

5.0 out of 5 stars Spray on Hair Color Thickener, December 3, 2006
Great product if you are starting to loose hair. I would not recommend it for a complete loss of hair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Made me feel like a winner, October 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Length:: 3:03 Mins

I've always wanted to try spray on hair, so I just had to order this Jerome Russell stuff from amazon. I tried the dark brown, because that's what matches my natural hair color, but there are many to choose from.

Pros:
+Comes in a variety of colors
+Covers even the toughest bald spots
+Makes you feel awesome
+One bottle covers an entire head three times, or probably covers a small balding spot about 10-20 times.
+Every makeup crew for movies should get a bunch of these
+Has a powerful spray
+Spray has good accuracy, so you don't need to protect your clothes (even though I did)
+Washes off easily, leaving no trace

Cons:
-Do not go outside in the rain! Now I understand why the competing products show people swimming underwater. If you swim underwater, you'll turn the whole pool brown
-Leaves a residue in the bathtub when you wash it off
-Gets your fingers black if you touch your hair
-Smells really bad, like glue or paint (but just when you're applying it, after you apply it, there's no smell)

This review is from: SPRAY ON HAIR COLOR (Health and Beauty)
This product has been so helpful to me. After pregnancy I always lose oodles of hair for months and months and it takes a long time for it to all grow back. In the meantime I see day by day how my scalp is becoming more visible through my hair. Well, this time I was armed and purchased this wonderful product. I agree with the reviewer who said it can be messy to apply, but it is easy to clean and is so worth this minor inconvenience. It looks so natural that no one could tell that it's not real, at least for my color hair and type of application. I couldn't judge for someone who is trying to conceal a large bald spot. I'm just trying to make thin hair appear a little thicker. I would not, however, attempt to use this product if there were any risk whatsoever of being caught in the rain. It would certainly be messy and embarrassing.
