Computer scientist Tim Cox has devised a revolutionary plan for putting ordinary patriots like you and me in every seat in the House of Representatives, taking control from the two political parties which currently run our country. He knows his history (the founding fathers are repeatedly cited), he's got his statistics down straight (95% of all elections are won by an incumbent - that's how often the outcome of a race is known), and he's got a plan in Get Out of Our House (GOOOH, which is pronounced simply "go").

His book makes a powerful impact by first outlining his plan at a high level. It is a reasonable call to action, asking all of us to find trustworthy candidates in our everyday life. He outlines the steps for sweeping November with grassroots action, and both the enthusiast and the skeptic can find plenty of details on the website named for the plan's acronym. Only after describing the movement at a high level does Cox make his case for the imperative need to evict the current legislature, sever special interest ties, and obliterate the restrictive two-party system. True to his scientific background, the plan centers on a 100-point candidate questionnaire, to which GOOOH's politicians would be held accountable in office. He has designed a democratic, self-funded system for electing leaders from among the many qualified citizens of our country.

Tim Cox's GOOOH plan has opened my mind, and I'll be passing my copy of the book along to friends and family in the next few months. He has made a compelling case for a revolution which is conducted entirely WITHIN the our Constitutional system.

This is so much more than a book. It is a system that outlines how we can take back control of our government and have ordinary people that represent the views of the people and not politicians representing the special interest groups in office. This book is a simple, well written, step by step instruction how each of us can become involved and make a difference. This book does not favor one party over the other, but rather TRUE representation of the people. It is a must read for everyone. It is so easy to get involved and together we can all become part of the REVOLUTION!!! I highly recommend this book and am ordering more to give to friends and family as gifts.

This man's insight is what has been needed. We all have to work togther to vote these lifetime politicians out. I receommend not oly reading this book, but joining the organization to remove every one of the Congress members currently in office, OUT. Then over the succeeding four years, vote every one of those lifetime career senators out.

We need people in office who are not liberals, lawyers, or liars. They le to our faces and as soon as the election is over, we are nothing to them until election time again. Insanity is to keep voting for these same liars over and over again and expecting the results to be different.

This is an outstanding book about a process to change the way US Representatives are elected. It will help bring about a way for ordinary Americans to make a positive difference in our government. This is an innovative plan and I encourage all to read it and become involved.

This book was a really good read. It presents a very well thought-out plan on how ordinary citizens can elect their peers to represent them in the US House of Representatives, with a guarantee that the person they put in office would

1) Vote the way they said they would during the campaign

2) Not be beholden to any particular party forcing them to vote a particular way,

and (this is a big one)

3) Not vote for or against a bill solely because they are worried about getting re-elected

There's the Questionnaire, where the prospective candidates state how they stand on 100 of the top questions facing Americans today. There is no right or wrong answer per se, but these answers form the basis of a legally binding document any candidate would have to sign before being selected agreeing to vote the way they said they would should they ever be elected, and if they violated this contract, they would resign their seat. Also, no candidate could be elected more than twice as a central theme to the book is term limits. Lastly, the portion regarding campaign fund raising seems doable as well- by avoiding big donors, Cox proposes to limit the number of "favors" a politician has to call in just to get elected.

As I said in my title, the magic is in the GOOOH Process, not necessarily in Cox's opinion on why the country is in a tailspin. His opinions on who bears responsibility for our downfall is polar opposite of mine, but even with that, I find the process a minor stroke of genius and the book an engaging read. Overall the idea of GOOOH should resonate with people of all party affiliations. Its obvious Cox's heart is in the right place, and I highly recommend reading this book.

Let me assure you that this is the most compelling political book you will ever read. It will get you to stand up and say "Yes! I too can make a difference!"

The book asks the following questions and provides a way to address all of them:

* Could you do a better job than the politicians in Washington today?

* Are you fed up with partisan politics?

* Are you tired of the corruption?

* Have you had it with the influence of special interest money?

* Do you want to be the one to make a difference but don't know how?

If you answered yes to at least one of the above questions you must read this book!

For decades Americans have expressed their disappointment with our representatives in congress. Inaction, partisan bickering, wasteful spending, and a general sense of our leaders being out of touch with their constituents lead to lower approval ratings every year. Yet ninety-five percent of these folks continue to get re-elected. The two parties, their money, and their chosen special interests have a stranglehold on politics and continue to dominate in every election. What has to happen to break the impasse and effect some real change in our government? How can we get the US House to truly be "representative" of the people, as the founding fathers intended?

Like many books, "Get Out of Our House: Revolution!" describes the startling political, social, and economic problems that currently plague America. However, this book differs because it offers a workable method to get people involved and, through effective representation in government, begin to address these issues.

Independents and 3rd party candidates have not had much success going against the established two parties, particularly at the Federal level. "Get Out of Our House" describes an ingenious, grassroots system for getting individuals on the ballot who would ordinarily be shut out of running for office. GOOOH candidates provide yes/no answers to a number of topical questions. This lets everyone know where they stand on issues. No more vague, noncommittal answers during the campaign. Further, GOOOH candidates are bound to vote according to those yes/no answers if elected. This means, once in office, no more going against campaign promises and voting according to the special interests that put them there. And each nominee from the GOOOH system pledges to serve a maximum of two terms, thereby eliminating political pandering done simply to get re-elected over and over.

It's a party without a platform. Candidates are nominated by other potential candidates through a selection process spelled out in the book. Ultimately the field is winnowed down to the individual chosen to be on the ballot. It's important to note that the system is self-funding. All candidates contribute a nominal amount to cover the campaign costs of the person ultimately nominated, no matter who it is.

Finally, a mechanism to get career politicians out of government.

This plan or movement by Tim Cox is one of those things you think to yourself, "why didn't someone do this before?". This book makes you think about all of the important issues that we, as Americans are facing today and what we can do about them. It makes you believe that you don't have to sit on the sidelines any longer but that you can actually do something about the career politicians who are ruining our country. Our United States of America can go back to being 'by the people, and for the people", we just have to act. Great book, great read! Buy this book!

Of couse we want change! Thank you to Tim Cox for doing something about it. In this book, he came up with a very workable plan and tells you how easy it is to follow it. It's not about what your political beliefs are, it's about giving the House back to the people, where it was always intended to be. With this plan, the people, not the politicians, have the platform they need to make the changes in policy that do actually benefit the people, not government or corporations. It's as easy or easier than just doing whatever your currently doing, and it makes so much sense, it is a shame not to read this book, even if politics do not interest you. It's about politics, but it's not political, and you don't have to understand politics to understand this book and learn how to help our country be as it should-in the hands of the people.

The goal of the author is to "restore our country to greatness."

The foundation of the idea is to replace professional politicians with every-day citizens who would identify with their constituents rather than special interests and maintaining their seat.

Tim Cox recites the fact that we are a republic, not a simple democracy. Where he varies from other authors that address the nation's problems is that he is an Independent with no party affiliation. He has no partisan-inspired axe to grind.

He offers many possible solutions to a variety of problems/issues ranging from crime, welfare, immigration, voting and more.

While I disagree with many of his positions on issues he strongly advises the reader to choose the positions that they believe are correct.Mr. Cox did get me to thinking about a lot of issues from a different perspective. This book will stir the pot and it may even fulfill it's mission. That is to get more citizens actively involved in their house- the House of Representatives.

He has a thoughtful observation on the economy - "Our problem has never been the lack of oil, it is the politics of oil. Every major U.S. recession of the past three decades has been preceded by an increase in the price of oil."

His plan itself is brilliant for it's simplicity. All it takes is enough citizens to get involved in a grass-roots movement. I don't see where an average citizen that participated in this plan and got elected wqouldn't be an enormous improvement over what we have today!

Even if you have no intention of becoming a candidate for office, at least do yourself the favor of reading the book.
