This review is from: Get Ready for Rock Reggae Steady (Audio CD)
This is one classic lp! And the first record to actually use the term "rock steady" in it, which is what thie album is all about.

I'm guessing that its from late 1967 just by the evidence of his covers of Procol Harum's "Whiter Shade of Pale," and the unlikely choice of the Bee Gees' monster hit "Massachusetts," both or which are admirably done. Again, Ellis' penache for taking tunes and making them his own is on full display here.

Many of the other tracks on the album, including the beautiful and wildly popular single "Why Birds Follow Spring," as well as "Blackman's Pride," "Let Him Try," and "Pearl," are all pure Ellis at the height of his power.

An amazing disc that is a must have in all rocksteady collections, don't pass up this classic.
