4.0 out of 5 stars good book for intermediate players
invading is a crucial aspect of go. it affects the beginning, middle, and late parts of a go game, so studying it in isolation is not sufficient. however, this book is very nice because it reads out all of the relevant possibilities of a given invasion, as well as why some invasions are better than others. looks at invasions in the corner, the side, and from an...

3.0 out of 5 stars A good Go book for those who learn by example
Bozulich's book provides the mid-kyu-level go player with a collection of invasion problems that can be useful for those who learn by example.

This book is not written for the recent beginner of Go, and does not fully explain the theory behind invading. It may be useful to read this in conjunction with a more theoretical book such as Ishida's "Attack and...

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful book about invading and other things, July 5, 2000

This book is of course about invading, but also about strategic concepts like sabaki or thickness. It will help you to find the weak spots in your enemy position, the right time to invade, whether you should make a deep invasion or a light reduction, etc... I think it's a very good complement to a more theorical book like "Attack and defense".
