About the Author

Karyn Beach is a radio host, coach and author. For her first book, she decided to focus on something near and dear to her heart: organization. Known to friends and family for her organizational ability, it seemed natural to share some of her favorite organizational techniques with others. As a life coach, Karyn is committed to helping her clients live their dreams and make the most of their opportunities - today, right now, where they are at this moment, using what they already have. Karyn is a living proof that doing what you can with what you have works. She's written a screenplay that was turned into a short film, won big on Who Wants to be a Millionaire and traveled from London to South Africa. Karyn has a passion for life and encourages others to do the same.

More About the Author

Karyn L. Beach is an author, coach and radio host. She's also been a screenwriter (with a short film under her belt), a game show contestant, an avid blogger and movie reviewer.

Her life is a testament to her philosophy to live a life with no regrets. To that end, her business is called Lose the Excuses because it's the excuses that stop us from taking the chances and putting the effort into living life on our own terms.

Her writing is as eclectic as her background. Her first Amazon Kindle offering was a workbook on getting organized and eliminating clutter (Get It Together Girl!). A natural organizer, it contains tips she uses to get and stay organized.

There are currently three books in the Get It Together Girl Series:
A 28-Day Guide to Practical NOT Perfect Home Organization
It's about Time: Finding It, Saving It, and Making the Most of It
Getting to Goal: Your Dreams, Your Desires, Your Way

The fourth in the series on stretching your dollar and cost-cutting techniques will be released in December of 2013.

The Get It Together Girl philosophy has made it's way off of the page and onto the airwaves. Get It Together Girl Radio airs live on Mondays at 8:00 PM (EST). If you can't listen live, catch the archive of the show.

It did hurt, but felt so good afterwards.

The 15 minute timer method is a great way to slice a detestable task down to size.

If you are new to organization, or are overwhelmed, this little article will carry you thru 28 days around your house.

The author uses a 15 minute timer system and hits the high points. I think this is well worth the money if you need somewhere to start and are feeling overwhelmed.

If you need to go on from here, then getting the Flylady book Sink Reflections(on Kindle) under 10 bucks would be helpful.

The 15 minute timer method is a great way to slice a detestable task down to size. Work at it for 15 minutes, swallow the medicine, then get back to having fun. Life can improve 15 minutes at a time. Flylady uses this method on her site, but if flylady is overwhelming then start here.

You won't be starting any big project with this booklet, each project is a mini bite towards better organization as a whole, and by the end, a lot of your household will be functioning well even if you skip some days.

I have enjoyed working through this short and sweet e-book. I am only 1/2 way through, but have read the whole book (did I mention it is short).

What I love about this book is that it is concise, organized and works in my REAL LIFE! Even though I read through the whole book first, you could just read one or two paragraphs for the day and then get to cleaning. No long complicated system to figure out, or acronyms to memorize. Just some great little projects that take 15 or less.

Each week you have 5 weekday 15 min decluttering projects, extra projects for the weekend when you have extra time, and KIT (keep it together) cleaning tips that are easy to incorporate into your life.

My house is not perfectly organized, but I have worked through several problem areas that frequently get ignored. The way she describes the clutter in these often ignored areas just cracks me up - it is like she has been in my house, looked through my drawers, and sat me down like a good friend to tell it to me straight. I especially love the section on getting rid of styling products, that this was going to "hurt." I hate throwing it away because I spent so much money on it, but if it doesn't work, why am I keeping it! It did hurt, but felt so good afterwards.

After I am done with the 28 days, I will probably go back and finish all of the weekend projects I didn't get to. I want a sequel! More projects please!

I paid only 2 dollars for this outstanding book. It's well worth it! It breaks down everything as to what you need to do: refrigerators, Tupperware, etc..

My review is short and sweet, just like the book. Buy it!

Kind of a short sweet copy cat, but without being forced to put on your lace up shoes. ;) However, I do like that it has small, easy assignments, broken up over a whole month. I will be taking her challenge.

This book is a very simple schedule to follow to declutter your home. The 15 minutes a day time limit is just enough to challenge yourself without getting too caught up in an overwhelming project. My only issue is that she does not cover two of the problem rooms for my home--the garage and what I call "the guest room," which is really just another storage room with a bed in it. There are several days spent on the kitchen, though, and other areas where (for me) less time is needed. I can adapt the schedule to meet my needs. I read this book on Kindle, so I have to mention that the chart at the back does not seem to load correctly; but, as mentioned, I will adapt the schedule anyway, so it is no big deal for me. I think she spends a little too much time on the kitchen area and too little time on the living room. Also, as most of these books suggest delegating tasks to others in the household, that advice is not very useful for someone living alone. She had a great idea about printing out a standardized grocery list and taping it to the refrigerator that I may use. I would recommend this book above and beyond all books on decluttering that I have read, since the 15-minute challenge really does accomplish something.

Perhaps I'm already too organized for this book. I did read a few tips that were helpful. This book is really for those who have a very hard time getting organized. But I do like the format for her organization - as it would be easy to follow for those just getting started.
