5.0 out of 5 stars A GOOD READ LEADS TO GOOD HEALTH
I was given a copy of Get Well with the Hay Diet by a friend who knew that I was already a convert. For over fifteen years I had suffered terribly from dreadful gastric problems and when a colleague suggested that I tried the Hay Diet it was like a miracle cure. Literally overnight I was cured of the dreadful pains that had been a daily part of my life for so long. Two...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very generic information
I liked the information provided in the book but it is mostly basics about eating organic, non-processed foods. I was looking for something more in depth and with more details of what to eat when, etc. If you don't know that several of your health issues may be due to what you eat, then this book will enlighten you. But if you are already convinced of that and are looking...

Bill Cameron (London, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Get Well with the Hay Diet: Food Combining & Good Health (Paperback)
Two years later I had lost a stone and a half and feel fitter and more energised than ever. The proof of this could be the fact that I am running the London Marathon this year. So when I started to read Jackie Habgood's excellent book I wondered if there was anything more I could learn. It is a really comprehensive look at all aspects of food combining and I learnt a great deal that I didn't know before; helpful tips and advice about all aspects of the diet. I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of starting to food combine and anyone who is a dedicated combiner already. Get reading - get healthy!

5.0 out of 5 stars the only book you should have, June 8, 2007
This review is from: Get Well with the Hay Diet: Food Combining & Good Health (Paperback)
When I first read about the Hay diet, I though that it would be difficult to follow it, and that it wasn't practical. But after only about two weeks of combining food in this way, I found that it wasn't that difficult at all, and I felt much better than I had when I was eating meat with potatoes. I believe this book is THE book for healthy living. If you're skeptical, this book will change your mind. It is the best book on food combining out there. It will work for people trying to loose weight, or someone who is just tired of feeling sick. I also recommend looking into the books by Paul Bragg. They also contain great information, but some of it is repeated sometimes.

I liked the information provided in the book but it is mostly basics about eating organic, non-processed foods. I was looking for something more in depth and with more details of what to eat when, etc. If you don't know that several of your health issues may be due to what you eat, then this book will enlighten you. But if you are already convinced of that and are looking for more details, then this book is not enough. I glanced through most pages. It gives information on several health issues and the solution to all is pretty much the same. So there was no point reading each. Plus not nobody has all the issues.. My issue is with stomach pains and indigestion. If you are looking at this book for the same problem, don't waste your money, buy something that will give you more practical advice.
