Sharam's "Get Wild" is Good,

This review is from: Get Wild (Audio CD)
Sharam's Get Wild double CD is very good. Offering a variety of house styles to suit all fans of Deep House. Some of my fave tracks at the moment are "She Came Along" with a little bit of Patsy Cline and some rapping by Kid Cudi; "The One" with Daniel Bedingfield and a song by Morel called "I Love The Way Your Breaking My Heart" all very distinct styles of dance. Do yourself a favour and get this music now!

Everything house, and some downtempo too,

This is a great CD. All tracks are original productions but they are mixed so you get the best of both worlds. Various collabs allow a variety of house music (very little progressive thankfully) to shine though, and you get a couple of hip-hop/r&b songs too. The 2-cd version is the one I got and I suspect that one is a must because it all just spreads out for your listening pleasure. If you like house or just generally good dance music then go for it because it's some of the best out there.

Oakie stumbles, Sharam follows,

I'm afraid Sharam Tayebi (he of Deep Dish-are they still together?) has fallen into the same trap that Oakie did on the execrable "Bunkka". That is, when all seems stale, drag in "stars". Although Oakie's version of Madonna's Hollywood wasn't bad, he finally saw the light and came roaring back with "Anthems" and "Perfecto Vegas".
I can't think of a worse mix than that of Patsy Cline and Kid Cudi and Diddy's take is also annoying on an otherwise decent album. Anousheh Khalili is wonderful on "Don't Say a Word" and "Be the Change" although I lean toward the no vocals electronica style of years past. And the reading Morel gives to "I Love the Way (That You're Breaking My Heart)is up to his standard of "True" as evinced on Digweed's "Bedrock" but a lot of this cd, while delivering some real solid beats doesn't hang together and some of the music feels like so much filler. If you already have enough Deep Dish and want to indulge in Sharam's other solo efforts, try "Dubai" instead. As soon as I can find a copy of the limited edition 2 disc set cheap, I might try to give it another listen, but for now, just download the cuts you like. I saw that the limited edition reviews on this web site are mostly positive, so I'll give Sharam another try, but this cd isn't up to his best.
