Roots fans need to cop this. Easily the equal to "Peace In A Time Of War," which I thought was a classic. "Get Wiser" shows a more musically mature and diversified SOJA, but they wisely (pun intended) stuck with what they do best -- crafting profound, top-quality, jammin' roots reggae. Plus, any reggae album with local DC legend Go-Go Mickey bangin away has got to be a classic.

Along with Groundation (please check out any and all of their albums), SOJA is pretty much the top of the food chain when it comes to real old-school roots reggae these days. Never thought I'd see the day when the best new roots bands would be coming from the U.S., rather than Jamaica or the UK. But SOJA, Groundation, Midnite, John Browns Body, (the related) 10-Foot Ganja Plant and even Matisyahu -- all either from the US or US based -- are definitely representing. Of course, some of the old guard from JA and UK (Burning Spear, Steel Pulse, etc.) are still holding it down, but the best of the new blood is here.

Anyway, I digress, buy the album.

WOW this albulm is amazing a great step foward and is equally just as good as their first peace in a time of war even though it is differeft. if u like roots reggae at all SOJA is where its at!! i have had this albulm since it came out in early fall and still amazed at how good it is.. Every reggae lover GET WISER and cop this!!

I got this cd after seeing them in Richmond and it's my absolute favorite now. It's Soja, so of course it's good, but this cd is definitely the best by far. It's music so good you just wanna close your eyes and enjoy it.
