This CD was not what I thought I had ordered or what I expected. It was paired with another CD by the acapella Men's singing group "Straight No Chaser". I thought this CD was also by that same group. It was not and is a different style of music. I could not readily tell from the outside packaging that it was not by the group I wanted. And thus started playing it before I realized it. I did not enjoy this CD at all and it should not be sold as a pair with the holiday album by a different group of the same name. It is misleading.

This is NOT the a cappella group from Indiana University that had the smash CD 'Holiday Spirits'. Be forewarned.

What you see is not what you get. -- Ordered for the group Straight no Chaser -- received a jazz album of people and songs never heard of. -- one star only because there was not a negative!!

This CD is not the Straight No Chaser you're looking for! This is a compiliation of some jazz/blues, not the reformed acapella group with IU origins. Wait for the new Christmas CD coming out in Oct 09 or buy the already released Six Pack EP.

As so many others have been saying this is NOT, and I mean DEFINITELY NOT, from the acapella group with the same name. SHAME on you Amazon for not pointing that out!
This is some sort of soso-bad basement Jazz group.... (and all that includes compared to the acapella group)
If you like basement Jazz then - by all means go ahead - but if you're shopping for the acapella group out of Indiana University then don't bother!
Honestly - I hated this thing (can't even call it an album)
I got it, and was had, because I didn't read the other reviews first - hopefully you are luckier...

The CD inside the jacket did not match the jacket. I thought I was getting a Straight No Chaser CD and there was something totally different inside. I was very disappointed.On the Getdown

Hey HH, I agree, I think this jazz CD is weak. BUT, here's the group I think you were looking for: 'Holiday Spirits' by 'Straight No Chaser' from Indiana...Phenomenal vocals group, and a great relaxing AND entertaining addition to anyone's holiday listening or gatherings. I'm buying several more of their 'Holiday Spirits' CD this next year for gifts!

I think they should allow you to review the songs from the cd - I wouldnt have purchased as this was not the cd I was looking for. Wound up having to return it - and then I was no longer qualified for the free shipping!!

As most of the reviews mention, it's not the same as Straight No Chaser the a cappella group. About five years ago I said some band was going to either get lucky or intentionally choose the same name as another and wind up leeching sales, but this is the first time I've seen it. I have no idea which group was named first or if maybe this is the same group but they were convinced by someone that a cappella wouldn't sell well, so they recorded a boring, predictable "rock" CD. Either way, I see little value in buying it.
