5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic ending to a fantastic series, February 17, 2002

This review is from: Getter Robo Armageddon - Salvation (Vol. 4) (DVD)
This is it - the battle everyone's been waiting for, Shin Getter Robo vs. Getter Dragon! But even that is overshadowed by the final battle of the series, as Shin Getter must travel to Jupiter to stop the final invasion of the solar system. Earth is to be destroyed by the invaders using Jupiter's satellite, Ganymede, and only Shin Getter Robo stands in its way. Prepare yourself for the ultimate battle between the Getter pilots and the invaders as it unfolds in Getter Robo vol. 4 - Salvation!

If you haven't picked up vols. 1-3 of this series yet, what are you waiting for?! The Getter Robo series is one of the best examples of the Super Robot series ever made, blending incredible battle scenes with gripping storylines. I won't spoil it for you, but suffice it to say that even if you're not a fan of mecha series, you will not regret investing in Getter Robo volumes 1 to 4.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Getter Robo Team's Final Battle For Planet Earth, April 15, 2002
By A Customer
IF you haven't already watched parts 1-3 then the story line won't make any sense to you so pick them up to enjoy the final battle between the Getter team and the alien invaders!

The battle inside the mutated Getter Dragon and the return of the original getter robots (thou piloted by the bad guys) is a nice touch as the Getter team first tries to stop the Getter Dragon from destroying Earth and then from stopping the alien invaders from using the Getter reactor from the black getter robot to finalize their plans for world domination of planet earth.

The plan to destroy the comet and the end of the series is action packed and demands repeated viewing to enjoy the final chapter of this saga.

4.0 out of 5 stars The finale to 1 of the most action packed anime series ever!, February 23, 2002
By
This review is from: Getter Robo Armageddon - Salvation (Vol. 4) (DVD)
Im 2 months behind on this one but I'll make it brief. The first 3 DVD's are very good, the last is the same however not as quickly was I to give it the very good mark until after a second viewing. The reason is because the ending is a bit confusing and after "further review" the series keeps it's 4 star status.

The Last DVD is not skimpy on the action (just like the others) except this DVD the action is on an even more grander apocolyptic scale than the others if you can believe that. The series ending truely goes full circle with it's finale and like I mentioned it may require another viewing to understand however for those willing to be patient it will make since.

This is one of my shorter reviews but I just wanted to comment on one of the finest action series to date. It is great to see an anime with very little comedy and more reliance on story and action to push it to the next level like this one does here.

So for the series as a whole if you want a non-stop action extravaganza that has a story that is complex enough to require a second viewing so that you got it all ( a thinking man's action series whodathunkit?),if you like Robots, Mad Scientists, and Military action on a Post Apocolyptic scale then look no further Shin Getter Robo is the series for you.
