This book is a great complement to my book "The Secret To Getting A Job After College". While I cover the details about resumes and cover letters, this book does a very effective job addressing issues related to determining what you should think about doing after college and the author also has a valuable section on how to prepare your elevator speech. I recommend it for everyone who is in college or has graduated in the past few years and I now consider it required reading for many of my students.

I was looking more for advice on getting from a major with no clear career applications(ie. not doctor, lawyer or teacher) to a career that I would be able to live with and perhaps enjoy. This guide helps you more if you have a pretty clear idea what you want to do and are ready to make a full time job of finding your career, especially if you are not willing to settle for "paying the bills" or "get out of the parents' house". For those of you lucky enough to have not picked a major yet, just remember that picking a major needs to corrolate to getting a job, not just "learning stuff". For everyone else, if you have a dream, seems like this book will help you get there. If you don't yet have a dream, I would strongly suggest tackling that area first. This book mainly just suggests getting a career profile(which is more of other people telling you what you should do, instead of you finding out what you want to do). There's a lot of really helpful and very current information in here. You have to be ready to jump on it though.

Good book found some new information and things I already knew. Made me feel better about not finding a job in my field. Also helped me with self esteem. A great read for someone who is down about job process. Also gave me ideas about different things to do to help with job process.

I purchased this book after Lindsey gave an eye-opening presentation at my school and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This is definitely a helpful book regardless of what stage you're at in your own career development. I really enjoyed the style and format of the book because it was easy and fun to read, but you could skip around or skim through each tip if it didn't apply to your own situation.

As I prepare to graduate with my master's degree in the next few months, I've been finding myself struggling to make a decision whether I should pursue a career in the field I'm receiving my degree in, or pursue some alternate dreams I've had for quite some time. Lindsey's tips on getting rid of "shoulds" and exploring a passion, really spoke to me and my own circumstances and provided me with a sense of comfort that I really needed.

If this particular section doesn't apply to you, then I'm sure the tips on internships, networking, resumes, cover letters, and interviews will.

I read this book my senior year of college and found that it provided some valuable insights. I have always had an idea of what I wanted to pursue after school, but I found that this book takes those ideas and turns them into actionable steps in order to help you reach your goals. The author provides 90 suggestions in which those planning for their careers should take advantage of, especially if you are still discovering your interests. The book is an easy read I and appreciated the conversational style of writing. For each of the suggestions, the author discusses how each can be valuable to you and she provides some possible steps in the "make this work for you" section. I recommend this book to all college students who are looking for guidance when planning out their career. Even if you already have an idea in mind, this book can still provide some valuable advice.

Lindsey Pollak breaks it down for you! Her tips are mostly great, found some that I wasn't even aware of. I also enjoyed the fact that she starts by telling us her own story and how her career built up over time by taking action. The author also provides great insights from many other industry leaders. I would definitely recommend this book to us young and restless grads!

I bought this book for my daughter but since she was away this weekend, I read through it myself. I ended up writing three pages of bullets/notes! Some things I already knew and was going to suggest to her so it was nice to have validation but I learned a few new things myself. I would tell her to recommend this to all her friends in school but I think I'll wait until after she finds a job because the tips are so clearly spelled out that I think this book will be an advantage for her.

I also appreciated the fact that she recommends the best way to use your parents as a resource.

My favorite advice beyond the very important (lock down your social media sites now) and the very practical (add a signature line in your email) was Follow Every Rainbow.

Now here's hoping with a graduation one semester early, four internships and this great book that she gets that very important first job on her way to enjoying her career as much as her father and I have enjoyed ours.

I saw this book mention in one of my Cosmo magazine issue (yeah, I know) and just had to check it out by just the title alone. I always try to check out books from my local library before I buy them just in case I don't like the book but this book I WILL be buying! I haven't been able to put the book down since I got it and have already renew it from my library twice. I am an Undergrad Junior and I wish I had this book when I first entered college!! It gives so much information that not only college students will benefit from but everyone at ANY stage in their career can find this book useful. BUY not borrow this book!! This book can be used for years to come
