Readers can gain an understanding of the issues, concepts, and technologies necessary to implement an AS/400-based e-business solution with the help of this new book by Bob Cancilla. From planning for e-business to selecting an ISP, readers will learn to successfully deploy mission-critical e-business applications with the AS/400. Readers will also learn about the many products that work together to make the AS/400 a Web server, as well as how to develop a project plan and design and build an e-business Web site. While many other books touch on individual Internet-related technologies, Getting Down to e-business with AS/400 puts all the pieces together!

About the Author

Bob Cancilla has spent 30 years managing large-scale systems development projects and technology for both large insurance companies and independent software development companies and has been involved with AS/400 Internet technology since its inception. Interacting with IBM and approximately 10 other AS/400 Internet pioneers, he deployed one of the first and most advanced insurance systems, which provides services to the policyholders, agents, and employees of a large nationwide commercial insurance company. This user group has been among the first in the world to deploy IBM's WebSphere Application Server, Net.Commerce 3.0, OS/400 V4R4, and Apache, as well as Netscape.

This review is from: Getting Down to E-business with the AS/400 (Paperback)
For anyone looking to get a great understanding of what eBusiness is really all about this is the book for you. Covering all sorts of different aspects from page design and layout, to webserver setup and dynamic page and content generation you really cant go wrong.

It is full of examples you can use, so that within a couple of hours you can get dynamic access to your information without the need to really tax your mind. Just how it should be! It shows that eBusiness is more than just technology, its about bringing many different processes together. And best of all you get to really make use of your AS/400, although it equally fits any other platform in all the concepts it covers.
