Editorial Reviews

Macaulay Culkin (Richie Rich) is a clever kid out to reform his wayward father (Ted Danson, Three Men and a Baby, "Cheers") in this exuberantly zany, heartwarming comedy for the whole family. When he is dropped off at the home of Ray Gleason (Danson), the father he hasn't seen in years, Timmy (Culkin) hopes that they'll be able to spend some time together. Unfortunately, that's not what Dad has in mind. Involved in the get-rich-quick scheme of a lifetime, Ray and two klutzy cohorts are illegally paving the road to financial bliss...that is, until Timmy steps into their path. Recognizing that only he can set his father straight, this inventive kid creatively thwarts their plan and makes Ray do time...as a dad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great film July 28, 2002
By "ebs28"
Format:DVD
I think this is one of the better films Macaulay Culkin did during his child actor career. It was generally poor received by critics, but it's still one of my favorites. Culkin delivers a great performance. This is a must have for any Culkin fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good, very overlooked October 17, 1999
Format:VHS Tape
In yet another enjoyable performance, Macaulay Culkin plays an 11 year old kid who has not had that much quality time with his dad, who is an ex-con. Just as his father (Ted "Sam Malone" Danson) is about to commit one final robbery, Culkin arrives for a visit and disrupts his fathers plans. In turn, Culkin hides his father's loot that was just stolen and only says he will give it back if his father does time-- as a dad. Culkin is great as usual, and Danson does as good a job as he did as his "Cheers" womanizer. It does bear a little resemblence to the "Home Alone" movies, eespecially two of Dansons' cohorts (Saul Rubineck and Gailard Sartain). But it makes the movie all the more fun. Don't miss this one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good movie
I liked this movie. I think it was funny and certainly had a message in it. In spite of what others say, I think it's one of Macaulay's best movies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much Better Than The Earlier Reviews/4 or 5 Stars
Culkin fans should love this movie. The movie has a good message. Home Alone fans should not be disappointed. Danson is at his best in this film.

1.0 out of 5 stars This was an almost forgettable flick, but then I remembered
Saturday August 14th, 1994. I was still rather uncertain about the future. I had asked Jesus into my heart 2 days before watching this movie, and thought things would be a breeze. Read more
