Book Description

Harlequin Blaze February 1, 2005

Francesca "Frankie" Salvaterra is exactly where she wants to be in life. She is known as the Carnal Contessa, the resident sexpert for CHiC magazine, and her outrageous suggestions for spicing up flavorless sex have propelled her to semistardom. But when the magazine pairs her up with sexy Ross Hartford, aka The Duke of Desire, she knows where she'll end up--on her back. And she plans to enjoy it....

Ross isn't happy to learn that he's been set up to give sex advice to thousands of women. There's only one woman he wants, and he'd like to personally demonstrate just how much he knows. Still, this temporary partnership--in and out of bed--might be exactly what he needs to get Frankie out of his system for good. Only, the more he has her, the more he needs her. And it doesn't look as if there's anything temporary about it....

3.0 out of 5 stars A fun and light read ....., November 3, 2007

Getting It Good! by Rhonda Nelson
Harlequin Blaze # 172 - February 2005
Chicks In Charge series Book 2 of 4

Frankie Salvaterra and Ross Hartford know each other because Ross' best friend and boss is married to Frankie's best friend and business partner. And from their first meeting the chemistry zinged between them, but Frankie used her sarcastic tongue to keep Ross at a distance. Zora's been trying to find a way to get Frankie and Ross together, and when an opportunity falls into her lap she pulls out all the stops. Suddenly Frankie and Ross find themselves touring the US to promote the print version of Chicks In Charge's highly successful ezine CHiC. Frankie aka Carnal Contessa is the magazine's sexpert. Ross has been manipulated into being the Duke of Desire. They are a huge success when during a question and answer session, Ross demonstrates the proper way to kiss a woman, of course, and this means he has to kiss Frankie. Their attraction reaches near boiling. And when the next city's hotel doesn't have the standard two-bedroom suite but instead a single room with a king size bed and Jacuzzi, Frankie finally acknowledges that she's been royally set up. What happens when Frankie decides if you can't fight 'em, you should join 'em?

This one dragged a bit at the beginning. Frankie and Ross are both great characters and are obviously made for each other. But for some reason I just didn't feel their chemistry and tension until half way through the book. Frankie needs to know she can trust Ross and Ross needs to get over his commitment phobia. The loves scenes were well done and appropriate to the story. It was fun watching them finally hook up and make the leap. :D

4.0 out of 5 stars delightfully amusing contemporary romance, February 9, 2005
This review is from: Getting It Good! (Harlequin Blaze) (Mass Market Paperback)
Happily married couple Zora Anderson and Tate Hatcher raises the sex poker bet. She asks him to matchmake his pal Ross Hartford with her friend Frankie "the Carnal Contessa" Savaterra while he counters that if he wins she must hire Ross to work in her all female organization, Chicks in Charge. Tate wins the bet as Zora turns flushed, but recovers rather quickly as she realizes she won since she can place her employee Frankie with her new worker Ross, who has no choice but to accept her if he wants the Ward account as bad as he says.

Frankie and Ross are the last couple one would expect to be together, but as they fight, fuss, and fume their attraction turns to love. However, neither will back down and admit how they really feel about the other. For Frankie men are distrustful, something she learned from her father; Ross considered the Duke of Desire by women actually needs one female Frankie, but she seems to take more pleasure ripping his skin and telling others how to add flavor to the sex instead of him.

The latest Chicks in Charge tale, GETTING IT GOOD is a delightfully amusing contemporary romance starring two likable combatants. The story line never takes it self seriously as Frankie has become almost famous for her carnal comments in CHiC magazine while Ross is known for pleasing women, although the only one he desires treats him like a loser. The return of Zora and Tate from GETTING IT will please fans who read the first book and tempt those like this reviewer to obtain the tale as this one is a good time.
