This review is from: Getting to Know OBD II (Paperback)
This excellent book is best suited to the professional technician or the truly dedicated serious hobbyist. It is not designed to provide specific code-numbered solutions to Check Engine Light problems, but is instead geared towards teaching the working repair technician the details of the underlying second generation On-Board Diagnostic system (OBD-II). The information on monitors, trips, drive cycles, code setting criteria, etc. is helpful for gaining a general understanding of the nuances of OBD-II. It is NOT a troubleshooting chart for specific problems, although it does contain valuable troubleshooting overviews and procedures. There is an especially good section on P0300 (misfire) codes mentioning many frequently overlooked causes of such codes.
