5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Book
I bought this as a gift for a friend and had a chance to look through it before I sent it-- it is beautifully layed out and has tons of lovely scripture references and thoughts. I wish I had had something similar when I was pregnant with my twins!

I was not aware this was a Christian book and I am not a Christian, nor is the pregnant woman that I purchased the book for. I do notice now there is a Christian, religious tag, but that wasn't evident in the search that I did for pregnancy journals.

5.0 out of 5 stars just what I wanted!, September 30, 2009

this book is exactly what I was looking for... it has some blank pages so you can write whatever you want to your baby, and some of the pages have topics at the top to give you ideas of stuff to write about. It does refer to God , which is fine because I am a Christian! I love it. Great idea!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Journal, August 2, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Getting To Know You: A Journal for Expecting Parents (Hardcover)
In looking for a journal that was designed for both parents to be journaling, this one was the only one I really liked. I love the fact that it includes prayers to the Lord at the bottom of every other page. I truly believe that my child is a blessing from God and it just reminds me that through constipation, nausea, cramping, cravings and fatigue God has blessed us. Small price to pay! In this journal you can include your own topics but the majority are catagorized with "family", "first, second and third trimesters" and topics such as, "hopes and dreams, favorite things, my emotions, and changes." This is a serious journal and one your child will cherish when it has it's first baby.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful keepsake!, January 7, 2008

I've been looking for a guided journal I could write in as a keepsake to remember my second pregnancy but have not found one as great as this one. It has short questions to guide entries and plenty of unguided pages for whatever comes to mind. Our little one will treasure this book as will, I believe, our whole family when we are done. 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great journal for Mom AND Dad!, May 7, 2007
This review is from: Getting To Know You: A Journal for Expecting Parents (Hardcover)
This is one of the only journals I was able to find that included the baby's father in the journaling. There are chapters for each trimester and also for various topics such as hopes and dreams, values, the future. Each page starts off with a little sentence to get you going such as "The first person we told that we were pregnant was...". There is also a space on the top of the page to say who is writing the entry (Mom or Dad), the date of the entry, and the baby's age at that entry.
One warning though: This book has many religious references. If you're not religious, you may find some of the pages unnecessary. This wasn't a problem for me and my husband, but I do think people who are less religious may be taken back by some of the pages that focus on God.

Using the questions provided on each page of this journal has really helped me open up and write to the baby yet to come. My husband and I have both enjoyed writing in the book, and look forward to it become a treasure for him/her for years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great idea!, November 3, 2006
This review is from: Getting To Know You: A Journal for Expecting Parents (Hardcover)
When you are pregnant is the best time to write and take the time to process so many new feelings. As a journaler and writing teacher, I know the value of writing things down as they come. Once the baby arrives, there can sometimes be precious little time to journal. All of the feelings of being expectant are so important. Even better, I love the format of this book and the way Christine gives time and place for the "We" in the baby's life because baby's father/husband is part of the process of writing to contribute thoughts. This is my new favorite gift for new moms! Thank you, Christine!

This is a wonderful CHRISTIAN based baby journal. It has helped me cope with all those crazy emotions; both hormones and being a new first time mom. My husband and I enjoy living a Christian lifestyle in our home and hope to raise our child that way. This is a great start!!

This book is great because it has references to God & many other spiritual/Christian sayings. But I wish it had places for pictures & mementos (ultrasound); it is strictly journaling. I will most likely add my own pictures once I start to show & will just paste those over the journaling lines. I'm almost tempted to just buy another one & use both but it's hard to find one for both parents, one that mentions God in any way & overall this one is ok.
