This is a super little book. Perfect for young kids as an intro to having a pet parakeet (and the mom learned some new things too!). It's written in first person, so the parakeet talks about himself and what it needs to be well cared for. There'a also a sense of humor written into the text, my 5 and seven year olds were cracking up when the narrator bird talked about it being a bit rude to look at its vent. but that it would be ok with him for the sake of checking his health. Great photographs with little bubbles showing what the parakeet is thinking. Highly recommended for any family with children deciding on getting a parakeet for a pet.
