Jayme Waxman does a huge service to her gender!,
By Mina Laia (Brooklyn, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Getting Off: A Woman's Guide to Masturbation (Paperback)
Everyone will learn something from this book. It's packed with interesting and useful information (from very basic to sophisticated) and contains a huge list of resources if you want to know more (or, want to buy some of the great gadgets Jayme writes about). In addition, Jayme peppers the book with quotes from real women so you can know what the rest of us are thinking without having to ask.
If you're a woman, Jayme will teach you what you need to know about your sexual biology and how it can make you happy (or happier). If you're a man, you will understand womens' bodies (and minds) in a way that will make you a better lover. Jayme writing is smart and fun. You'll feel like you're talking to one of your girlfriends at a slumber party. Most importantly, she tells it like it is without apology. Sex is fun! Get this book and let Jayme show you how to make it even better!

This book may have been better when I was 18, but at 54, no new info provided. It was pretty well written and had good graphics to teach the proper name/location for things. If you're young and just studying this information, it would be a good book. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother buying it.

Jayme is brilliant, funny, and fabulous! You want to buy and devour this book. Every women should have the joy and pleasure of fulfilling our her desires. And this book is your ticket to fun, self-love, and a great time.
I especially love all the tidbits of history and the how-tos for the different toys. Women are amazing creatures and Jayme's book is a must-have for any women who truly wants to be empowered, loved, and honored.

Wonderfully Informative,

This review is from: Getting Off: A Woman's Guide to Masturbation (Paperback)
This probably the most helpful female masturbation sex book I've read. And I've read a few. Very cute pictures, easy to follow format, and organized chapters help to keep this book from being overwhelming despite the amount of information it holds. It has helpful blurbs in it from actual women, an oveview of sex toys and sex toy companies, suggestions for solo play, very non-scary diagrams, brief histories of sex toys, discusses the stigma of masturbation, how to safely play solo, and much more. Very helpful to me was the listing in the back of online stores and informative sites, helpful for comparing toys and getting personalized help from the staff of many sex toy shops like babeland and early2bed.

Good tips and very interesting Information,
This review is from: Getting Off: A Woman's Guide to Masturbation (Paperback)
First things first... I think that all women should have this book! It wouldn't hurt if men read it too. There is all kinds of interesting information about a women's anatomy that I wasn't aware of. It has good tips and reviews for toys and other products you can use. I also like the fact that it has quotes from women all over the country through out it. A must read.

most useful but with serious reservations,
This review is from: Getting Off: A Woman's Guide to Masturbation (Paperback)
A book of this sort should include an index. This one does not. With one, it would be far more useful. One of its most valuable assets is the long--and annotated--list of resources included at its end. Also worthy of note is the fine art work by Molly Crabapple.
