Refreshing and Enlightening!,
This review is from: Getting Past Guilt: Embracing God's Forgiveness (Paperback)
Very helpful in showing me see God's reactions to my sin. He's not trying to catch me breaking a rule or still steaming about what I did in 9th grade. But Joe also discusses the value of feeling guilt sometimes. It's like feeling pain when we skin our knee or prick our finger. It show things are working correctly. When we do wrong, we should feel guilty about it because we are GUILTY. But we should only feel that for so long and accept God's forgiveness. It's a complex book that is actually very refreshing and fun to read.

I found this book fairly boring and not very helpful. A lot of vague, tedious explanations on guilt with no practical helps. As a Biblical counselor, I found it of no use to me. I suggest"The Gift of Guilt; 10 Steps to Freedom from Guilt, Forever" as a better choice. |
