Massively overpriced and completely outdated,
By Michael A. Duvernois (Minneapolis, MN United States) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Getting Rid of Graffiti: A practical guide to graffiti removal and anti-graffiti protection (Hardcover)
If this were 1990, this book would merely be overpriced. (The book is sold primarily to government offices for whom the price matters not a bit.) But the chemistry of both graffiti removal and (to a lesser extent) the graffiti have moved on in the past quarter century. Worthless today.

This book is not only overpriced. But, it is outdated as well...by 15 years. Making this book more or less useless in regards to removing graffiti. Because, newer chemicals are being used to remove newer dye type components of ink and paint that is used to deface property with graffiti.
You are better off to save your money and buy a book that is able to match the graffiti of today. I think common sense dictates this.

This review is from: Getting Rid of Graffiti: A practical guide to graffiti removal and anti-graffiti protection (Hardcover)
If you have an interest in removing graffiti or protecting buildings from graffiti then this book will give you the best guidlines of how to proceed. The author's experience comes from his own studies and implementation of graffiti removal on the London Underground. The book not only explains the psychology of graffiti gangs/individuals, but also the best techniques of removal and protection from the various forms of graffiti on different surface types and locations. It's explains how it's techniques have been proven through actual case studies in London and New York as well as providing key addresses and contact details of suppliers of the tools and chemicals needed in the process. Additionally, it provides charts for the best methods to proceed for removing graffiti with the most appropriate chemicals and methods. The only downside to the book is that it was written in 1991 and has not been updated to list the latest chemical products. However, if it's something you're serious about then this book is a must.
