If you own this treasure lock it up!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Getting It Right (Audio Cassette)
I seldom laugh out loud as I did reading this highly entertaining tale of a young hairdresser's inept search for love. I made the mistake of lending the book and of course it has been passed on and on so I've lost it!

Who ever said finding love was easy? Can Gavin get it right?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Getting It Right (Charnwood Library) (Hardcover)
Gavin, a 31 year-old virgin who works in a non-hip London hair salon, is looking for love in all the wrong places. His best friend, who is gay, thinks Gavin may be, as well. His sister, who has the best intentions, tries to set him up with her unsuitable pal. And his parents are no help either. Gavin romances the most exquisite girls ever created ... in his dreams. With his head in the clouds, it takes him awhile to realize that true love may be right before his eyes

Not my style...,
By Manola Sommerfeld (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Getting It Right: Tie In Edition (Mass Market Paperback)
Although this book has interesting commentary on the many philosophical questions that a sensitive person asks him/herself through life, it did not satisfy my literary tooth. Gavin is an introverted guy, still living at home, too indecisive to take command of his life, and who faces a number of balance-shattering experiences in a relatively short amount of time. How he deals with all these episodes is interesting, but the novel as a whole did not gel into something that grabbed my attention.
