A "keep it close at all times" kind of book,

I will always have this book handy. So resourceful and easy to take in, all the great tips and guides in "Getting it Right with Type" made it everything I was looking for in a book about typography. I'm a fourth year advertising student and this book has truly made an impact on my design. I would recommend this to any student or young professional out there. Even if you think you know great typography, get this book. It's a great reference, if nothing else.

Getting It Right with TYPE, The dos and don'ts of typography
Victoria Squire, 2006 ISBN 978-1-85669-474-2 Laurence King Publishing 162 pps. Plus appendices Ppbk. A not-overly-technical, but complete book, an important to guide self-publishers on how to understand and produce books that sell. Too many self-publishers fail to realize the value of book design and lay-out--where and how print is placed on book pages. The right type, page design and ink add to a books appeal to buyers. Hundreds of types exist. Choosing the right one enhances legibility and enjoyment for book buyers. An excellent book. Novice writers need to especially understand the concepts in this book. |
