This book is a 'must have' for your library, whether you are an academic or working in industry. Bryan Orme writes in primarily layman's terms and offers detailed explanations for the scientific jargon and terminology. This is an excellent book for first time conjoint analysis users and the perfect reference book for those of you who already know about CA.

How many discoveries have been lost by ignoring modern statistical methods? In my search for answers I am glad I found Bryan Orme's book. Bryan's teaches us about conjoint in an elegantly simple way - not because he's dumbing it down, but because he's prioritizing the essentials that someone new to conjoint needs to know to be able to begin practicing it.

I also appreciate how he takes an academic-like approach to citing his sources. His rich citations demonstrate to me that he knows his subject, gives me confidence in his recommendations, and points me to where I can look to dive deeper to learn more. Even with his academic rigor, his writing style is conversational and easily understood. His writing style helped me to "get it" on the first read.

I recommend this as a great place to start for newcomers to conjoint and discrete choice methods.

This is an OUTSTANDING, EASY TO READ introduction to conjoint analysis that works for both INDUSTRY and ACADEMICS. Orme provides an excellent balance of theoretical and practical information with the basis established on a conjoint application that can be understood by anyone. The second edition adds an essential glossary of terms that is critical when using and applying conjoint analysis. It's a MUST BUY for anyone who is interested in understanding what conjoint is and how to do it, as well as for those who have been "sold" a conjoint study and need to understand what it means.
