This is a book that I didn't even know existed. But once I did find out about it, I HAD to read it. Mr. Miers put in this book many first hand accounts of the battle....be it from soldiers, officers, or civilians. I really enjoyed reading the accounts. But the book was written in 1948 and some of the information is outdated. It was information that was correct in 1948 but in recent years, the information has been updated due to new information surfacing. I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to any student of the Civil War
