One of the Best Geyser Books Written,

This review is from: Geysers: What They Are And How They Work (Paperback)
The author of this book was a ranger at Yellowstone and taught geology at the college level in California. This is a superb book about how geysers and hot springs work in general. While it is written for the younger set, it is also a very good book for adults. If you have any interest in geysers, buy this book. The fantastic pictures alone are well worth the price.

This review is from: Geysers: What They Are And How They Work (Paperback)
Geysers: What They Are And How They Work explains in clear detail the inner workings of these mysterious geological phenomena. The images are beautiful and pass perfectly to the text. It also includes a full list of all known geysers all over the world.
I bought it for work (I'm a tour guide in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, and I regularly visit the El Tatio geysers), and I must say I'm pleased. Even though the book's tailored to Yellowstone, the information is useful enough for me. I only wish the author would write one with more data on the geysers here! Scott Bryan has a precise, concise, and simple enough way of writing; he doubtlessly tackles the issue comfortably, and his long experience shows. All in all, a must buy for geyser fanatics, and those who work around them!

This review is from: Geysers: What They Are And How They Work (Paperback)
An entertaining and helpful book, with clearly written text and beautiful photograghs. It answered some questions I had that were not really addressed in other books. Read this book before going on to 'The Geysers of Yellowstone' by the same author.
