5.0 out of 5 stars Quality High Life May 30, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This is another quality package of obscure recordings, resurrected by the Soundway label. Two discs are packed with uptempo Afro-beat and Highlife music from Ghanaian artists I've never heard of, but ones that make a very favorable impression. The rhythm is the message here, and the beat never stops over the course of these two discs. The years covered in this collection (1968-1981) must have been a fertile period for music in Ghana. The quality of the songs and performances is top notch and should appeal to any lover of Afro-beat, from Fela to King Sunny Ade, and other artists covered on various Soundway and Analogue Africa compiliations. This one is another solid, ear-opening, danceable jewel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it April 23, 2010
Format:Audio CD
I just found this album about 4 days ago. I haven't stopped listening to it and I fall in love with a new track every day. I own over 250 albums and this is the first time I am writing a review for any of my albums. Sometimes albums get produced and and when they get popular everyone buys it and you can't find it anymore. Trust me, this is one of those albums. Don't let it pass you by... I've had to learn this lesson the hard way. Buy this album... it's a trick or treat bag of drums, vocals, bass and much more. Good ole' fashion African soul.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stellar Collection January 4, 2010
Format:Audio CD
Definitely my favorite of the Soundway compilations (even better than Nigeria Special). Hard to find even 1-2 clunkers.
