First off, I've waited over 5 years for new music from Brody and I must say "Ghetto Love" didn't disappoint. Valium Knights is the best tune in the bundle; the driving drum beat is reminiscent of the Misfits and that brings pleasure to my ears. Ghetto Love left me initially confused, but I really like it now. Same with Bury My Heart, which I feel is the connecting track between Coral Fang and Spinnerette.

Now onto the reason why I rated this 4/5 - I honestly can't stand Distorting A Code. I've tried and tried to make myself like it, but I can't. Since there's always that one track you never manage to fall in love with, I can let it pass. I just hope when the full release comes out that it follows the path the other three tracks created, and definitely NOT this one.

PS: The video is a real plus. I love how she missed the second "HEY!" and smiles and says "Oops". It warmed my heart. I suggest everyone pay the (very fair price of) $5 and buy this straight for them; we all want to see them on a full blown tour, so show your support people!

So glad to see Spinnerette branch out into areas The Distillers just could not go, I knew this would be good, just can't wait for a full album, are 17 songs too much to ask for? How bout an electronic double album of Goodness?

True, definitely a different sound, more rock then punk but the same powerful vocals, fast, fun tracks and if it sounded exactly like the distillers I would have been disappointed. The EP rocks!

Spinnerette is a project by Brody Dalle, of The Distillers. This isn't "The Distillers", it's a new direction entirely. Some who have had this EP for a week (it's $5 and comes with a music video at: http://www.spinnerettemusic.com/ You can also listen to the tracks on the site in their entirety there) say this project sounds a bit like her Husbands band Queens of the Stone Age and yes, there are some similarities and that's probably why I love this EP and direction. I'm also a Queens fan. So give Spinnerette a listen. If you like Brody, The Distillers, and Queens of the Stone Age, you'll probably enjoy this a lot. If you like rock music fronted by a woman with a powerful presence and voice, this ep is for you.
