5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST CD IN MEMPHIS, TN, July 17, 2005

I am from Memphis, TN and I have to say, Project is the greatest rapper of all time out of Memphis, TN. This IS Project Pat's best cd.

Go out to your local music store and buy this cd ALONG with Mista Don't Play...and you're be good. Bump this in your car, REEEEEEAAAAALLLLL loud, especially if you have a system in your ride.

You can play this cd, from front to back without skipping or fast forwarding.

Satisfaction...GUARENTEED!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great debut from the REAL King of Memphis, October 12, 2003
This review is from: Ghetty Green (Audio CD)
I just recently purchased this CD about a month and a half ago and it hasn't left my car glove box since. What surprises me is that there are so many guest appearances on the CD, and that is very unusual for an artist to have that many guest appearances on his debut album, but hey, it's all good for me. the Krazie Bone/Project Pat crossover what the ultimate shiznit because Bone Thugs and Project Pat happen to be two of my favorite rap artists, and foo dang, what a song to! (Pass MEEE tha muthaf**kin' blunt man! LoL!)
I thought that Ca$h Money was on it too much though, and whoever made the patent for the back cover really screwed up on the guest appearances. Like for example: Lord Infamous is not on the song "Choices", and Ca$h Money is not on the original "Ballers" song, but on the remix. Gangsta Boo is on the original. But that didn't tamper with the CD or anything, still a great CD! It'll probably be in my glove box for many more months to come!!

Favorite two songs on the CD are the two songs that have Rinky Dink Records skits! ("Whatever Whenever Hoe" and "Rumble in this Hoe")

5.0 out of 5 stars NOTHING TOPS THIS, February 7, 2001

I have had this cd over a year, and it still sits at the front page of my case that consists of over 150 cds(When its not in my cd deck). What im trying to say is this cd never gets old. The bass will make almost anyones subwoofers sound good. And thee coolest, most violent lyricist. Project Pat will keep you comin. Ecspecially if you have a bumpin car stereo, and if so ill warn you that excessive listening to this album will damage your ears. 10 stars is my real rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Standard for Memphis Solo Albums, March 12, 2006
This review is from: Ghetty Green (Audio CD)
It's very rare that a rap artist releases a CD in which you don't hit the skip button once. Where rappers have accomplished this feat; Juveninle, Lil Wayne, Lil Wyte, Ludacris, 50 cent Kanye West to name a few. Add Project Pat to this list.Even though I paid $18 dollars for this CD 3 years after it came out, its a testament to how great this CD is. Not a damn boring or wack song on here. If he came out with a 2CD greatest hits, half of the songs would come off of Ghetty Green. True enough, in 1998, a another rapper by the name of Juvenile came out with 400 Degreez. These are the two best solo albums to EVER EVER come out of the south.

While this rappers are both extraordinary, they rap about everyday life in the hood. That's it. But what separates them from Master P, Ludacris? They do it so well, and you believe what their saying. They also "say" it in a unique way. Regardless of what anyone says no one is better at talking about "growin up in tha hood" than juvenile and project pat.

But anyway, Project Pat's Ghetty Green is a must buy. If you are thinkin about startin a 3 6 mafia collection without it you are a dumbass.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gotta get the green!, June 28, 2005
This review is from: Ghetty Green (Audio CD)
Project Pat's debut album is the second solo album to come from an artist on Hypnotize Records (Gangsta Boo's record was the first one), and it's a winner, another HCP classic. On this album Patrick Houston, a.k.a. Project Pat (Juicy J's brother) finally got his chance to shine, and boy, he did a great job! Enough can't be said about the production on this album - like all Hypnotize Records albums it's handled by The Superproducers - DJ Paul and Juicy J. Is there any doubt that they are some of the best producers from the South, and the rap game overall. They can make laid-back music, they can make dark sounding beats, and they are perhaps the first to do crunk music (way before Lil Jon). Project Pat does the beats he's provuded much justice. He's got a unique voice, a lot of charisma (something so many rappers lack these days...). You can't help but love his take-no-sh** attitude and his sense of humour, that go along perfectly with his street hardcore lyrics. The album features many rappers, including the whole Hypnotize Camp Posse, Noreaga, the whole Cash Money camp, Krayzie Bone (yeah, they squashed the beef!). It's a classic album, one of those you can listen from beginning to the end. The best songs are probably the title song, the song feat. Krayzie Bone (Up There), and "Gold Shine" (feat. Three 6 Mafia over a beat that's so addictive!!). Naming just three songs doesn't make this album any justice, because you can listen to it from beginning to the end, and you won't skip a track. By the way, for some reason, there are a few mistakes on the tracklisting on the back of the album - for example : the original Ballers doesn't feature The Cash Money camp like it's written. It features Gangsta Boo (who drops an awesome verse!). I can't get enough of this album, which continued the success of previous HCP releases. Too bad Project Pat has spent so many of the last years in and out of prison, because if he was be free I think he could've be bigger that he is now! But, speaking about that - Project Pat is getting released very soon after about 3 years in jail -he's getting out in a few weeks I think, and then he'll be able to record more of his tight-a** album. Hopefully, he'll stay out of trouble this time. The rap game needs more rappers like him, I think the South has had enough with Ludacris and Lil' Jon. I can't wait to see a new Project Pat album. It's been a loooong wait.

4.0 out of 5 stars Project Pat's Best Album, September 26, 2005
This review is from: Ghetty Green (Audio CD)
Mista Don't Play, Layin' the Smack Down, and Murderers and Robbers are all solid albums, but Ghetty Green definitely outdoes 'em all. Memphis, Ten-a-ki's best rapper gets you hooked on his work when you here this album. Anyone that drives needs to put this in their deck and bump it as loud as you can. If you don't have a CD player, then record it onto a tape and do the same. If you don't drive, then just turn out the lights in your room, turn this album all the way up, and let the music take you. Best songs are Out There, Up There, and Suck on D**k.
