About the Author
Philippa Pearce is one of the most distinguished living children's authors. Her titles include Here Comes Tod, Minnow on the Say, The Battle of Bubble and Squeak (Winner of the Whitbread Children's Book Award) and the classic Tom's Midnight Garden, for which she was awarded the 1959 Carnegie Medal. Many of her books are based in or around Great Shelford, the Cambridgeshire village where she was brought up and to which, after several years in London, she has since returned.
