Book Description

Second novel in the Hamilton Kids' mystery series

When the Hamilton kids arrive at their Uncle's ranch in the Laramie Mountains, they want to see the ghost of Crimson Dawn. So their Uncle and aunt take them to the Summer Solstice Festival on Casper Mountain, which takes place each year on the first day of summer. There, 9-year-old Danny not only sees the ghost, she leads him to an injured dog. But who does the dog belong to and why was it shot? And is the dog connected to the person setting fire to their uncle's hayfield?

Jaime, Sam and Danny at first wonder if witches and warlocks are responsible, but soon realize they need help to solve the mystery from Bagnomi, the spirit who talks to them on their Ouija Board.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghost of Crimson Dawn (A Hamilton Kids' Mystery) November 19, 2011
Format:Paperback
Ghost of Crimson Dawn, the sequel to Mystery of Spider Mountain, finds the Hamilton kids and their grandmother visiting an aunt and uncle's farm, where they learn new chores and attend a gathering of witches, warlocks and ghosts who gather annually on the summer solstice. While there, Danny (9) follows a ghost to an injured dog and the three kids get entangled in a mystery only Bagnomi, their Ouija board spirit, can help them solve.

I found this series a good fit for kids who like to read good, clean (if scary) books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kids with a Spirit of Adventure November 7, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I don't usually read YA books, but I did pick up GHOST OF CRIMSON DAWN by Jean Henry Mead. In this episode of the Hamilton Kids Mystery series Jaime, Danny and Sam travel with their grandmother to visit their aunt and uncle's farm.

Their visit was filled with surprises when they encountered stories of witches, warlocks and ghosts. Their encounters lead to action and suspense as someone sets their uncle's haystacks on fire and injures a sweet dog, and the kids use a Ouiji Board to try to figure out what's going on.

This book would be best read on Halloween or on a dark and stormy night. Kids who enjoy the occult in particular would enjoy this story.
