4.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy the blue cover version...
those of you who have seen the film and want to buy the soundtrack to it are urged not to buy the version with the blue cover...it doesn't contain the actual tunes used throughout... this version although expensive, has the original soundtracks including the superb opening Ghost Dog Theme...

much better than the other version, although the two are almost completely...

3.0 out of 5 stars This has the missing tracks, just not all of them
If you are a die hard GHOST DOG fan then this CD is for you. If you're just looking for some of the tracks missing from the US version I'd stay away from the CD. First off it's missing the song that Ghost Dog is playing when he steals his first car. 2nd, that dope beat being played when he's practicing with his katana is on here, but it's only 1:30. Third, it's way too...

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes, this is the soundtrack that you want..., February 8, 2002

Yes, listen to Grant, and not the emperorchu...This is the music you are looking for. The US release soundtrack does not have the music from much of the movie. It is a way for RZA/WU to sell more records... Was disappointed when I bought the US release which is mostly RZA/Wu stuff that was made just for the soundtrack of the movie. Like Grant said, this version is expensive, but well worth it...These are the actual beats and music from the excellent Jim Jarmusch film 'Ghostdog'.

5.0 out of 5 stars the REAL soundtrack, September 15, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai (Audio CD)
Fact is, if you've investigated 'Ghost Dog:Way Of The Samurai' this far to be interested in buying the soundtrack I have good news and bad news.
Fist the bad news: This IS expensive, and the cd itself is not even a full 35 min in length. But it IS the actual music you heard (and were captivated and mesmerized by) in the film. Haunting, dark..stunning. Released ONLY in Japan, for God knows what reason. At least you know it has fancy packaging, too (not that I could read most of it).

The Good news is, apparently Amazon still has it. Now that you've found it, take a deep breath and buy it. I'll be out of print and unavailable any minute, and you'll end up having to buy the lame, watered down "various artists" 'Way of the Samurai' soundtrack that was released here in the US. Or get involved in some bidding war on ebay.

A masterpiece.

Only die hard Ghost Dog fans need purchase this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for every ghost-faced killa, January 18, 2006
This review is from: Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai (Audio CD)
This version of the soundtrack a vastly superior to the US version...the dope beats throughout seem to divide into two seperate songs. The two tracks with participation by the rest of the Wu Tang Clan are especially fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you're looking for the reggae song..., April 21, 2005

You can buy it directly from Willi Williams' website (www.williwilliams.com). The song is "Armagideon Time." The one from his record is the same one in Ghost Dog. He's still making music, too. Isn't that cool?

4.0 out of 5 stars Tracks You Wanted To Know, November 27, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai (Audio CD)
For those who wanted to know the tracks:

1. The one played in the car is 'From Then Till Now' by Killah Priest and is found only on his album, 'Heavy Mental.'

2. I think the reggae style one might be 'Don't Test/Wu Stallion' by Suga Bang Bang

Also, another fantastic song ommited from both this album and the various artists' album is 'Ice-Cream' by the Wu-Tang Clan and can be found on 'RZA's Greatest Hits.'

Hope that helps

3.0 out of 5 stars Andrew Cyrille?, May 4, 2007

About the missing "jazzy" song--I remember watching this movie and hearing Andrew Cyrille and Jimmie Lyons playing "Nuba One." I thought it was pretty surprising, considering the song is pretty far out for a Hollywood movie. The song is available on the "Nuba" album (first track), and you should be able to find a used copy here on Amazon. Too bad they didn't include it on the soundtrack--I thought it was a great part of the film and really set the tone. I hope this helps you in some way!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack, August 19, 2005
This review is from: Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai (Audio CD)
Very good soundtrack, would be 5 stars, but it doesn't have all the songs from the movie, I have both the soundtrack and the score, but neither have the song I am looking for, I was looking for a track that was played after Ghost Dog stole the Lexus, but neither have it, still, GREAT soundtrack!
