5.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional October 2, 2013
By Mark
Ghost Encounters: The Queen Mary, is a splendid DVD containing very many true historical facts about the Queen Mary. This history, while already interesting enough, is made even richer through the aid of Peter James. I highly recommend this DVD for anyone who is into ghost stories/haunts. This whole entire DVD has a creepy feel to it. Peter James and Fiona Horne are extremely entertaining to watch. Sometimes, Peter James's "channeling" goes on for a bit too long, but that's about the worst I have to say about this DVD. Peter James narrates most of this DVD and keeps this documentary alive. Debra Wilson and Frank Sontag are also in this DVD, however, I'm not really sure why, unless it was just to put their names on the DVD, because they lend absolutely no aid to the stories/directing here. Those two characters did not fit in well in the dialogue and actually subtract from the entertainment, as there presence generally seems awkward.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just okay August 21, 2013

A fairly interesting documentary on the Queen Mary ocean liner which is supposedly home to 600 active ghosts. I found Fiona Horne's cleavage to be a bit of a distraction, a pleasant distraction but a distraction nonetheless.

I've been to the Queen Mary in Long Beach twice now....once last year, stayed on the ship for two nights, and went on a couple of their ghost tours....That was an excellent experience and highly recommend it to others.

We just went again to the ship, this time with our 8 yr old boy, who LOVES the Titanic now, and he had the time of his life on the ship!

Sooooo, we saw this video in their gift shop, and thought it might be good.

First, I think the host is a bit over-the-top...I wasn't impressed with him or his lovely blond-haired sidekick.

Second, the history they spoke of was sorta interesting, but overall, the 'ghost' part of the dictation was pretty ho-hum.

I think this video cost me like 4 bucks. Was it worth it? Ehhh, let's just say I wouldn't recommend it highly to others... BUT, hey, it's 4 bucks, so I guess what do you expect?...

And for the two Amazon reviews titled 'WOW, this is the best' and 'Exceptional'....REALLY? Those descriptions would be the furthest from my mind!!!
